Inleiding
BAARHUISJE in neogotische stijl (1908), vermoedelijk gebouwd naar ontwerp van de gemeenteopzichter A. Jurling. Het baarhuisje is gesitueerd aan de oostzijde op de Algemene Begraafplaats en ligt in het midden van de begraafplaats in de as van het hoofdpad op een verhoogd terrein aan de Bikkersweg
Omschrijving
Het baarhuisje is opgetrokken in baksteen op een rechthoekige plattegrond en heeft een zadeldak tussen tuitgevels met gesmoorde Tuile-du- Nord. De uitgemetselde gevelhoeken worden evenals de tuitgevels bekroond door kunststenen obelisken. De daklijnen van de tuitgevels hebben een bepleisterde ezelsrug. De spitsboogvensters zijn uitgevoerd met een ijzeren roedenverdeling en vorktracering in de vensterkop met groen matglas. Op halve hoogte van de gevel loopt rondom een sierband van rood- en geelgeblokte verblendsteen. Deze band loopt ter hoogte van het kalf van de vensters en zet zich langs de spitsbogen van de vensters voort. De voorgevel of oostgevel is een topgevel met in het midden een driedelige opgeklampte deur. Ernaast zijn twee spitsboogvensters aangebracht en erboven bevindt zich één groot spitsboogvenster. Daarboven is een gevelsteen met het jaartal `1908' aangebracht.
De achtergevel is nagenoeg identiek aan de voorgevel.
De langsgevels bevatten elk drie spitsboogvensters.

Description
The chapel of rest is built in brick on a rectangular floor plan and has a gabled roof between spout gables with French tiles of Tuile-du-Nord type. The plastered facade corners are crowned like the spout gables with stone obelisks. The roof lines of the spout gables have a rendered saddle back. The pointed-arch windows are executed with iron glazing bars and tracery in the window head with green frosted glass. At half the height of the facade runs around a decorative band of red and yellow chequered facing brick. This band runs at the height of the lower window part and continues along the pointed arches of the windows. The front facade or east facade is a gable-end wall with in the middle a three-part clamped door. Next to it are two pointed-arch windows and above is one large pointed-arch window. Above this is a stone plaque with the date '1908'.
The rear facade is nearly identical to the front facade.
The long walls each contain three pointed-arch windows.
