Omschrijving onderdeel 2
HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG, XIX, bestaande uit a. oprijlanen; b. landschapspark; c. moestuin; d. bos, weilandjes en akkers.
ad a.: er zijn twee oprijlanen; de officiële oprijlaan leidt vanaf de Almenseweg oostwaarts naar het huis, waarbij via een fraaie boog rond het grote grasveld voor het huis de ingang in de oostgevel bereikt wordt; de laan is beplant met eiken en heeft een puinverharding; aan de Almenseweg staan twee pijlers (zie 5). De andere laan, eerder een landweg, is onverhard en loopt vanaf de Larenseweg naar het huis; onregelmatige beplanting met eik en beuk.
ad b.: de landschappelijke aanleg beslaat het gebied direct rond en met name ten noorden van het huis; aan de achterkant van het huis ligt een langwerpig rechthoekige akker omsloten door bos; in het stuk bos ten westen van de akker loopt vanaf het huis een bochtige beukenlaan naar het noorden; een duidelijk einde is er niet; dit geldt ook voor de smalle rechte laan met Amerikaanse eik, die vanaf de achterzijde van het koetshuis naar het noordoosten loopt; ten oosten van de akker een structuur van slingerpaden en -vijvers; voor het huis (zuidzijde) ligt een groot gazon waarin boom- heestergroepen, enkele borders en een aantal solitaire bomen; een gedeelte van het ronde oprijpad, het verlengde van de westelijke oprijlaan, heeft een oude klinkerbestrating.
ad c.: de moestuin ligt ten zuiden van het bos met de slingervijvers en ten oosten van het koetshuis; er staan een kas (1934) en enkele gecementeerde bakstenen koude bakken.
ad d.: in het westelijk deel van het bosgebied ligt een rechthoekige noordzuid gerichte akker, waar in het midden een rode beuk staat; op de noordoost punt een ronde kom; verder een onregelmatig gevormd weiland ten noorden van het huis aan de Heijendaalseweg; ook hierin een rode beuk als solitair; tenslotte zijn er nog enkele wei- en akkerpercelen in de meest zuidoostelijke hoek van het terrein. De grote akker voor het huis is belangrijk voor het gezicht.
Waardering
De HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- als goed en vrij gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een bescheiden, landschappelijke parkaanleg uit het midden van de 19de eeuw, die harmonieus ligt ingebed tussen bos (noord) en agrarische gronden (zuid) aan de rand van Vorden;
- vanwege de (veelal gebogen) lanen, het wandelbos met slingerpaden en -vijvers en de monumentale bomen;
- vanwege het kenmerkende contrast tussen open (akkers, weiden, gazons, vijvers) en gesloten (bos) partijen met de daarbij behorende zichtassen en gezichten;
- vanwege de landschappelijk-visuele waarden, met name aan de voorzijde van het huis;
- vanwege de samenhang met de gebouwde onderdelen op de buitenplaats.

HISTORICAL GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT, 19th century, consisting of a. driveways; b. landscape park; c. kitchen garden; d. woodland, meadows and fields.
ad a.: there are two driveways; the official driveway leads eastward from the Almenseweg to the house, whereby via an elegant curve around the large lawn in front of the house the entrance in the east façade is reached; the lane is planted with oaks and has a gravel surface; at the Almenseweg stand two pillars (see 5). The other lane, rather a country road, is unmade and runs from the Larenseweg to the house; irregular planting with oak and beech.
ad b.: the landscape layout covers the area directly around and particularly north of the house; at the rear of the house lies an elongated rectangular field enclosed by woodland; in the woodland to the west of the field runs a winding beech lane from the house northward; there is no clear end; the same applies to the narrow straight lane with American oak, which runs from the rear of the carriage house to the northeast; east of the field a structure of winding paths and ponds; in front of the house (south side) lies a large lawn containing tree and shrub groups, some borders and a number of solitary trees; part of the curved driveway, the extension of the western driveway, has old brick paving.
ad c.: the kitchen garden lies south of the woodland with the winding ponds and east of the carriage house; there stands a greenhouse (1934) and some cemented brick cold frames.
ad d.: in the western part of the woodland area lies a rectangular north-south oriented field, with a copper beech in the middle; at the northeast point a round hollow; furthermore an irregularly shaped meadow north of the house at the Heijendaalseweg; also in this a copper beech as a solitary tree; finally there are several meadow and field parcels in the most southeastern corner of the site. The large field in front of the house is important for the view.
Valuation
The HISTORICAL GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT is of general importance:
- on account of its age;
- as a good and fairly well-preserved example of a modest landscape park layout from the middle of the 19th century, which lies harmoniously embedded between woodland (north) and agricultural land (south) at the edge of Vorden;
- on account of the (mostly curved) lanes, the walking woodland with winding paths and ponds and the monumental trees;
- on account of the characteristic contrast between open (fields, meadows, lawns, ponds) and enclosed (woodland) areas with their associated sight lines and views;
- on account of the landscape and visual values, particularly at the front of the house;
- on account of the coherence with the built components on the country estate.
