DORPSSTRAAT 98
Inleiding.
Langgevelboerderij in Ambachtelijk-Traditionele stijl uit 1886, gelegen op de hoek van de Dorpsstraat en de Helmondse weg nabij de oude kern van Aarle-Rixtel.
Omschrijving.
Eénlaags pand op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder zadeldak waarvan de nok evenwijdig aan de straat loopt. Het dak is gedekt met Hollandse pannen.
Het pand is uitgevoerd in baksteen, voorzien van een gepleisterde plint. Direkt onder de goot zijn een muizetand en bakstenen tandlijst aangebracht. Tegen de gevel zijn lisenen aangebracht die op de topgevels overgaan in een getrapt en klimmend fries.
De voorgevel van het woongedeelte telt vijf traveeën en bevat zesruitsramen met luiken, de deur is in het midden aangebracht. Het bedrijfsgedeelte sluit daarop aan met een zesruitsraam, een stuk blinde muur en een getoogde poort.
Boven deze poort bevindt zich een natuurstenen gevelsteen met jaartal 1886.
In de kopse gevel van het woongedeelte bevinden zich eveneens zesruitsramen met luiken, erboven zijn twee ramen met middenstijl aangebracht. Boven de ramen zijn segmentbogen in het metselwerk gezet. In de kopse gevel van het bedrijfsgedeelte zijn lage getoogde raampjes zichtbaar.
De achtergevel bestaat uit vernieuwd metselwerk, erboven is in het dakvlak een grote nieuwe dakkapel aangebracht.
Aan de straatzijde, zowel voor als opzij, is een gazon aangelegd, van de straat gescheiden door een ijzeren hekwerk.
Waardering.
De boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in Noord-Brabant en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de langgevelboerderij. Architectuurhistorisch is het pand van belang vanwege de sobere en evenwichtige ornamentiek. De boerderij is belangrijk vanwege de gaafheid en exterieur en is als zodanig zeldzaam.

Long-facade farmhouse in Craftsman-Traditional style from 1886, located on the corner of the Dorpsstraat and the Helmondse weg near the old centre of Aarle-Rixtel.

Single-storey building on a rectangular plan under a gabled roof with the ridge parallel to the street. The roof is covered with Dutch tiles.
The building is constructed in brick, with a rendered plinth. Directly below the gutter a brick dentil course and brick string course have been applied. Pilasters have been applied against the facade, which transition into a stepped and climbing frieze on the end gables.
The front facade of the residential section has five bays and contains six-light windows with shutters, the door is placed in the centre. The business section adjoins with a six-light window, a section of blank wall and an arched gateway.
Above this gateway is a natural stone façade stone with the date 1886.
In the end facade of the residential section there are also six-light windows with shutters, above which are two windows with centre mullion. Above the windows segmental arches are set in the brickwork. In the end facade of the business section low arched windows are visible.
The rear facade consists of renewed brickwork, above which a large new roof dormer has been inserted in the roof plane.
