Inleiding
Het PAKHUIS is gesitueerd op de oostelijke hoek van de Bierstraat en de Haven, aan de noordzijde van de kern van Geertruidenberg. Het pand ligt terug ten opzichte van de rooilijn. Het pakhuis, dat uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw dateert, is opgetrokken in een ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl. In de voorgevel van het pakhuis hebben zich na de bouwtijd enige wijzigingen voorgedaan. De rondboogpoort is vervangen door een rechtgesloten ingangspartij, een aantal rondboogvensters is dichtgezet en er werd een nieuw rechtgesloten venster links van de poort aangebracht. Hierachter bevindt zich in het interieur een later gebouwd kantoortje. In de achtergevel is een hijsluik dichtgezet.
Omschrijving
Het pakhuis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt één bouwlaag onder een zadeldak, gedekt met oud-Hollandse pannen. De kopse gevels van het pand hebben de vorm van een tuitgevel. Het pand is deels onderkelderd, kelderluik aan de voorzijde. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen met pleisterlaag. Het pand is voorzien van rondbogige vensteropeningen. Een gedeelte hiervan is later dichtgezet, een ander gedeelte voorzien van rechtgesloten vierruits ramen.
In het midden van de noordelijke kopgevel een rechtgesloten ingangspoort, links een later aangebracht rechtgesloten venster ter plaatse van het kantoortje. Boven de huidige poort nog sporen van de oorspronkelijke rondboogpoort en twee rondboogvensters. In de westelijke kopgevel aan de rechterzijde twee rechtgesloten vensteropeningen. De zuidelijke kopgevel is in het midden voorzien van een rondbogige luikopening, later dichtgezet. De scharnierpennen van de luiken zijn nog aanwezig.
Inwendig heeft het pakhuis een open zolder met een houten vloer op een houten balklaag, opgelegd in de muur. Aan de achterzijde een verlaagde zolder.
Waardering
Het pakhuis is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en industrieel-archeologische ontwikkeling. Het pakhuis bezit ensemblewaarde vanwege de situering, verbonden met de ontwikkeling van de voormalige haven van Geertruidenberg. Als relatief gaaf pakhuis is het object van belang vanwege typologische zeldzaamheid.

Introduction
The WAREHOUSE is situated on the eastern corner of Bierstraat and Haven, on the north side of the core of Geertruidenberg. The building is set back from the building line. The warehouse, which dates from the second half of the nineteenth century, is built in a craft-traditional style. In the front facade of the warehouse some alterations have occurred after construction. The round-arched gateway has been replaced by a straight-sided entrance section, a number of round-arched windows have been infilled and a new straight-sided window was installed to the left of the gateway. Behind this is a later-built office in the interior. In the rear facade a hoist opening has been infilled.
Description
The warehouse has a rectangular floor plan and has one storey beneath a gabled roof, covered with old Dutch tiles. The end gables of the building have the form of a spout gable. The building is partly cellared, with cellar opening at the front. The facades are built in brickwork with plaster layer. The building is provided with round-arched window openings. Part of these has been infilled later, another part provided with straight-sided four-light panes.
In the middle of the northern end gable a straight-sided entrance gateway, to the left a later-installed straight-sided window at the location of the office. Above the current gateway still traces of the original round-arched gateway and two round-arched windows. In the western end gable on the right-hand side two straight-sided window openings. The southern end gable is provided in the middle with a round-arched shutter opening, later infilled. The hinge pins of the shutters are still present.
Internally the warehouse has an open loft with a wooden floor on a wooden beam layer, laid in the wall. At the rear a lowered loft.
Valuation
The warehouse is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as a special expression of a socio-economic and industrial-archaeological development. The warehouse has ensemble value because of its situation, connected to the development of the former harbour of Geertruidenberg. As a relatively intact warehouse the object is of importance because of typological rarity.
