De directeursVILLA genaamd 'Vale Ouwe Zate' heeft twee bouwlagen op een nagenoeg vierkante plattegrond onder een afgeplat schilddak, gedekt met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen. Het hoogopgaande afgeplatte tentdak boven de linker hoektravee is gedekt met leien. Het pand heeft een omlopende gepleisterde plint. De gevels worden afgesloten door architraaf, een gepleisterd fries en een houten geprofileerde kroonlijst (waarin de goot). De gevels worden verlevendigd door een versiering van horizontaal over de gevel lopende wit gepleisterde banden, een zwaar geprofileerde cordonlijst tussen de verdiepingen (eveneens aangebracht aan de achtergevel) en ter hoogte van de onderdorpels van de vensters een geprofileerde waterlijst. De vensters zijn op de begane grond van enkelruits schuiframen voorzien en op de verdieping van T-schuiframen. De vensters worden afgesloten door licht getoogde strekken met gepleisterde aanzet- en sluitstenen. De vensters zijn gedeeltelijk nog voorzien van de oorspronkelijke persiennes.
De VOORGEVEL is drie traveeën breed en heeft een licht uitgebouwde linkertravee. Op de hoeken bevinden zich pilasters. Deze zijn op de begane grond gepleisterd en voorzien van een gebosseerd blokmotief, op de verdieping zijn deze uitgevoerde in schoon metselwerk met op regelmatige afstanden gepleisterde manchetten. De middentravee bevat de een ingangsportiek met een hardstenen stoep en een fraaie dubbele voordeur met detaillering in neorenaissancestijl. De verdieping bevat een venster met een T-schuifraam. Onder dit venster bevindt zich, evenals onder de overige verdiepingsvensters een gepleisterd paneel met een decoratie in de vorm van andreaskruizen. In het dakschild boven de middentravee bevindt zich een kleine niet-oorspronkelijke dakkapel. Zowel de linker- als de rechtertravee bevatten op de begane grond een venster met een enkelruits schuifraam waaronder zich een smal gepleisterd paneel bevindt. Beide traveeën bezitten op de verdieping een venster met een T-schuifraam.
De linkertravee heeft in het dakschild aan de voorzijde een grote dakkapel met pilasteromlijsting en bekronend fronton. De dakkapel bezit een stolpraam met een enkelruits bovenlicht. De LINKER ZIJGEVEL bezit zowel op de begane grond als de verdieping drie vensters. Deze bevatten op de begane grond van links naar rechts: een 6-ruits schuifraam, een enkelruits raam met een 2-ruits schuivend bovenlicht en tenslotte een enkelruits schuifraam. Zowel onder het eerste als het tweede venster bevindt zich een kelderlicht. De verdieping bevat drie T-schuiframen. De ACHTERGEVEL bezit op de begane grond van links naar rechts: een enkelruits schuifraam, een vernieuwde deur met een dubbel bovenlicht, een klein rechthoekig venster, een dichtgezette deuropening met een klein venster. De verdieping bevat van links naar rechts: een naar benden uitgehakt venster ten behoeve van een deur naar een moderne brandtrap, een kleiner venster met een stolpraam en een enkelruits bovenlicht, een klein hooggeplaatst raampje en tenslotte een venster met een T-schuifraam. De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL bevat op de begane grond over de volle breedte een deels gewijzigde serre met een gedeeltelijk aanwezige oorspronkelijke detaillering. De verdieping bevat links een venster met een T-schuifraam en rechts een kleiner niet-oorspronkelijk venster. Voor dit venster bevindt zich een brandtrap die aansluit op een van de vier moderne dakkapellen waarvan deze voorzien van een de daklijst doorbrekende deur. Het INTERIEUR kon tijdens de inventarisatie niet bezocht worden.
Waardering
Voormalige VILLA in Neo-Renaissancestijl van de geneesheer-directeur uit ca.1887.
- Van architectuurhistorische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een in de stijl van de Neo-Renaissance gebouwde villa. Het pand valt op door de hoogwaardige esthetische kwalteiten van het ontwerp, de gaaf bewaarde hoofdvorm en de zorgvuldige detaillering alsmede het materiaalgebruik. Het een en ander komt uitdrukking in Neo-Renaissancestijl uitgevoerde details als gepleisterde speklagen, aanzet- en sluitstenen, diamantkoppen en pilasters met gebosseerde blokken.
- Van stedenbouwkundige waarde als essentieel onderdeel van kuuroordcomplex Bethesda. De villa is van bijzondere betekenis voor het aanzien van het complex ten zuiden van het badhuis. Het badhuis en de villa worden van elkaar gescheiden door een wandelpark in Engelse landschapsstijl en vormen binnen dit park de twee belangrijkste bebouwingselementen.

The director's VILLA called 'Vale Ouwe Zate' has two storeys on an approximately square floor plan under a flattened hipped roof, covered with muted Dutch tiles. The high-rising flattened tent roof above the left corner bay is covered with slate. The building has a continuous plastered plinth. The facades are finished with an architrave, a plastered frieze and a wooden profiled cornice (which contains the gutter). The facades are enlivened by ornamentation of white plastered bands running horizontally across the facade, a heavily profiled cordstone between the storeys (also applied to the rear facade) and at the height of the window sills a profiled drip moulding. The windows on the ground floor are provided with single-paned sash windows and on the upper storey with T-sash windows. The windows are finished with slightly arched stone courses with plastered reveal and quoin stones. The windows are partially still provided with original venetian blinds.
The FRONT FACADE is three bays wide and has a slightly projecting left bay. Pilasters are located at the corners. These are plastered on the ground floor and provided with a rusticated block motif, on the upper storey these are executed in fair-faced masonry with plastered cuffs at regular intervals. The middle bay contains an entrance portico with a stone step and a fine double entrance door with detailing in Neo-Renaissance style. The upper storey contains a window with a T-sash window. Below this window, as below the other upper storey windows, is a plastered panel with decoration in the form of St. Andrew's crosses. In the roof projection above the middle bay is a small non-original dormer. Both the left and right bays contain a window on the ground floor with a single-paned sash window below which is a narrow plastered panel. The LEFT SIDE FACADE has three windows on both the ground floor and the upper storey. These contain on the ground floor from left to right: a 6-paned sash window, a single-paned window with a 2-paned sliding fanlight and finally a single-paned sash window. Below both the first and second window is a cellar light. The upper storey contains three T-sash windows. The REAR FACADE has on the ground floor from left to right: a single-paned sash window, a renewed door with a double fanlight, a small rectangular window, a blocked door opening with a small window. The upper storey contains from left to right: a window with a cut-down opening for a door to a modern fire escape, a smaller window with a roof window and a single-paned fanlight, a small high-placed small window and finally a window with a T-sash window. The RIGHT SIDE FACADE contains on the ground floor over the full width a partly modified conservatory with partially preserved original detailing. The upper storey contains on the left a window with a T-sash window and on the right a smaller non-original window. In front of this window is a fire escape which connects to one of four modern dormers with which it is provided with a door breaking through the roof line.
