HISTORISCHE TUINAANLEG De op het huis afgestemde omringende tuin vormt een goed voorbeeld van de Gemengde tuinstijl die kenmerkend is voor werk van L.A. Springer, waarbij sprake is van romantische elementen met slingerende gazons en formele elementen als rechtlijnige paden met trappen en duidelijke zichtassen alsmede terassen. De in de as van het huis geplaatste oprit wordt geflankeerd door twee bakstenen kolommen met een toegangshek. De van een grintlaag voorziene, zich verbredende oprit, heeft aan weerszijden een beplanting met ondermeer taxussen. Het huis en de tuin zijn verhoogd gelegen ten opzichte de oprit. In de as van de ingang bevindt zich een gemetselde trap met vier treden met aan weerszijden een tuinvaas. Middels een kleinere trap die gelegen is ter hoogte van het terras aan de zijde van de linker zijgevel wordt aan de noord-westzijde gelegen gazon bereikt met evenwijdig aan de linker zijgevel geplaatste bolvormige buxussen waartussen oorspronkelijk mogelijk rozenperken lagen. In de as van de van de genoemde kleine trap bevindt zich op enige afstand in noord-westelijke richting een tweede trap met zes gemetselde treden. Deze leidt naar een recht pad dat geflankeerd door in kubus of piramidevorm gesnoeide buxussen. Op diverse plaatsen zijn bogen over het pad geplaatst. In de as van het staat een tuinvaas. Ten noorde van het pas bevindt zich een fraaie langs het gazon slingerde struikachtige beplanting die overgaat in een beplanting met bomen. An de noordzijde van het terrein bevindt zich een tweede zichtas door de beplanting die eindigt in tuinvaas en een houten zitbank. HISTORIC GARDEN LAYOUT The surrounding garden, arranged to match the house, forms a good example of the Mixed garden style which is characteristic of the work of L.A. Springer, wherein there are romantic elements with winding lawns and formal elements such as straight paths with steps and clear sight lines as well as terraces. The drive, positioned on the axis of the house, is flanked by two brick columns with an entrance gate. The drive, furnished with a gravel layer and widening, has on either side a planting including among other things yews. The house and garden are raised relative to the drive. On the axis of the entrance there is a mortared flight of steps with four treads with a garden urn on either side. By means of a smaller flight of steps located at the height of the terrace at the side of the left side facade, a lawn on the north-west side is reached with spherical box plants placed parallel to the left side facade among which rose beds may have originally lain. On the axis of the mentioned small flight of steps there is at some distance in a north-westerly direction a second flight of steps with six mortared treads. This leads to a straight path flanked by box plants cut in cubic or pyramidal form. Arches are placed over the path in various places. On the axis of the path stands a garden urn. To the north of the path there is a fine shrubby planting that winds along the lawn which merges into a planting with trees. On the north side of the site there is a second sight line through the planting which ends in a garden urn and a wooden bench. On the north-east side of the garden, on the axis of the bay of the rear facade, there is a third sight line. Here too there is a flight of steps with six treads with two garden urns and on the axis of the path behind it a wooden garden bench. To the east of this path there was originally a vegetable garden.
