Inleiding
Op de hoek van Oude Hoogstraat en Oudezijds Achterburgwal in 1901-02 tot stand gekomen WINKELWONING naar een ontwerp in Neo-Hollandse Renaissance van J. Stuyt en Jos Th.J. Cuypers in opdracht van J.B. van Dijk bij monde van J.H.H. Rademaker.
N.B. Op de eerste verdieping bevond zich het privé-kantoor.
Omschrijving
Op een vierkante plattegrond tot stand gekomen en in baksteen opgetrokken hoekpand bestaande uit vier bouwlagen onder een zadeldak bedekt met rode pannen. Gevel Oude Hoogstraat. Drie vensterassen breed eindigend in trapgevel. Begane grond met winkelpui. Vensterverdeling door bewerkte houten stijlen. Glas-in-lood bovenlichten. Vensters hebben twee tienruits ramen met zesruits ramen als bovenlichten. Over alle verdiepingen kruisvensters voorzien van natuurstenen onderdorpels en hoek-, aanzet- en sluitstenen eveneens van natuursteen. Treden van de trapgevel voorzien van natuurstenen dekplaten. Bovenste trede bekroond door een gebeeldhouwde leeuw.
Gevel Oudezijds Achterburgwal. Deze gevel heeft een asymmetrische opzet met links een nagenoeg blind deel afgesloten door een trapgevel en rechts een twee traveeën breed deel afgesloten door een rechte lijst. Winkelpui loopt door om de hoek. Hoektravee voorzien van een trapgevel (met op de bovenste trede eveneens een gebeeldhouwde leeuw) waarin venster is geplaatst. In rechtertravee tweede ingang met groot achttienruits bovenlicht. Op de verdiepingen gekoppelde vensters (zie voor beschrijving boven). Tussen tweede en derde verdieping jaartalankers (1902). De achtergevel is eveneens als trapgevel uitgevoerd.
Waardering
In historiserende trant opgetrokken winkelwoonhuis van algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische waarde. Bovendien van situationeel belang wegens de ligging op de hoek van Oude Hoogstraat en Oudezijds Achterburgwal.

Description
Built on a square ground plan and constructed in brick, a corner building consisting of four storeys under a gabled roof covered with red tiles. Facade on Oude Hoogstraat. Three window bays wide ending in a stepped gable. Ground floor with shop front. Window division by worked wooden mullions. Leaded fanlights. Windows have two ten-pane sashes with six-pane sashes as fanlights. Cross windows across all floors provided with natural stone sills and corner, pilaster and jamb stones likewise of natural stone. Steps of the stepped gable provided with natural stone coping plates. Uppermost step crowned by a sculptured lion.
Facade on Oudezijds Achterburgwal. This facade has an asymmetrical layout with on the left an almost blind section closed by a stepped gable and on the right a two-bay-wide section closed by a straight cornice.
