In 1896 door de afdeling Bruggen van de toenmalige dienst der Publieke Werken in de gemeente Amsterdam in een laat-19de-eeuwse trant tot stand gekomen enkele OPHAALBRUG met drie doorvaarten waarvan de buitenste twee gewelfd. De brug (brugnummer 222) overspant de Kloveniersburgwal en verbindt de Nieuwe Doelenstraat met de Staalstraat.
Omschrijving
Land- en waterhoofden van baksteen met boog- en dekstukken van natuursteen. Het val met stalen randliggers. Aluminium brugdek. Geklonken stalen hameipoort en balans met vakwerk. Bewegingswerk in de vorm van kwadranten. Stalen hefkettingen en stalen brughekken. Een uit drie typen bestaande balustrade van staal en smeedijzer.

Description
In 1896 the Bridges department of the then Public Works service in the municipality of Amsterdam brought into being, in late 19th-century manner, a single OPENING BRIDGE with three navigable spans of which the outer two are arched. The bridge (bridge number 222) spans the Kloveniersburgwal and connects the Nieuwe Doelenstraat with the Staalstraat.
Description
Land and water abutments of brick with arch and coping pieces of natural stone. The span with steel edge beams. Aluminium bridge deck. Riveted steel bascule counterweight and balance with lattice framework. Movement mechanism in the form of quadrants. Steel hoisting chains and steel bridge railings. A balustrade consisting of three types of steel and wrought iron.
