Inleiding
In 1921 als gevolg van een verbouwing tot stand gekomen vaste PLAAT- of BALKBRUG met drie doorvaarten naar een ontwerp in Amsterdamse School-stijl van P.L. Kramer in opdracht van de afdeling Bruggen van de toenmalige dienst der Publieke Werken in de gemeente Amsterdam. Het beeldhouwwerk werd in 1916 ontworpen door Hildo Krop en uitgevoerd door de firma Johan Polet. De brug (brugnummer 43) overspant de Keizersgracht en ligt in de Leidsestraat.
Omschrijving
Landhoofden en pijlers van baksteen en natuursteen. Vleugels van baksteen in horizontaal getrapte vorm (waarin een gemetseld motief is opgenomen) met aan de onderzijde bij de waterlijn blokjes natuursteen en gedekt door gebeeldhouwde afdekplaten van grijs graniet met voorstellingen van een fabeldier (4x). Pijlers in verticaal getrapte vorm en overgaand in uitkragingen van natuursteen. Rechte stalen randliggers met geprofileerde afdeklijst en balustrade van siersmeedwerk vastgezet op de afdeklijst en de uitkragingen.

In 1921, as a result of a renovation, a fixed PLATE or BEAM BRIDGE with three navigable spans came into being, designed in Amsterdam School style by P.L. Kramer on behalf of the Bridges department of the then Public Works service in the municipality of Amsterdam. Description
Abutments and piers of brick and natural stone. Wings of brick in horizontally stepped form (in which a masonry motif is incorporated) with at the underside at the waterline small blocks of natural stone and covered by carved coping plates of grey granite depicting a fabulous creature (4x). Piers in vertically stepped form and passing into cantilevers of natural stone. Straight steel edge beams with profiled coping list and balustrade of decorative wrought ironwork fixed on the coping list and the cantilevers.
