Inleiding
In 1924-1925 als gevolg van een verbouwing tot stand gekomen vaste PLAAT- of BALKBRUG met twee doorvaarten naar een ontwerp uit 1922 van P.L. Kramer in Amsterdamse School-stijl, in opdracht van de afdeling Bruggen van de toenmalige dienst der Publieke Werken in de gemeente Amsterdam. Het beeldhouwwerk is van Hildo Krop. De brug (brugnummer 106) ligt over de Keizersgracht en verbindt de Raadhuisstraat met de Westermarkt.
Omschrijving
Vaste plaatbrug met twee doorvaarten. Landhoofden van baksteen en natuursteen. Vleugels van baksteen, aan de onderzijde bij de waterlijn voorzien van blokken natuursteen en op de uiteinden verzwaard met gebeeldhouwde pylonen. Pijlers van baksteen en gedecoreerde blokken en banden natuursteen. Beeldhouwwerk bij de middenpijlers van grijs graniet voorstellende twee keer een Faunskop met lange baard tussen groepen van drie kraaien waaronder twee koppen van kikkers. Stalen randliggers aan de onderzijde dichtgezet met stalen afdekplaten en aflopend aansluitend op andere liggers. De stalen randliggers hebben een eenvoudig geprofileerde afdeklijst van staal.
Waardering
Vaste plaat- of balkbrug naar een ontwerp in Amsterdamse School-stijl van P.L. Kramer en met beeldhouwwerk van Hildo Krop algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de esthetische kwaliteit van het ontwerp en de ornamentiek alsmede van belang voor het aanzien van de stad.

In 1924-1925 as a result of a conversion, a fixed PLATE or BEAM BRIDGE with two waterways to a design from 1922 by P.L. Kramer in Amsterdam School style, commissioned by the Bridges department of the then Public Works service in the municipality of Amsterdam. The sculptural work is by Hildo Krop. The bridge (bridge number 106) spans the Keizersgracht and connects the Raadhuisstraat with the Westermarkt.
Description
Fixed plate bridge with two waterways. Abutments of brick and natural stone. Walls of brick, provided at the waterline with blocks of natural stone and at the ends reinforced with sculpted pylons. Piers of brick and decorated blocks and bands of natural stone. Sculptural work at the middle piers of grey granite depicting twice a Faun's head with long beard between groups of three crows beneath which two heads of frogs. Steel edge beams at the underside sealed with steel cover plates and connecting adjoining to other beams. The steel edge beams have a simply profiled steel cover moulding.

Fixed plate or beam bridge to a design in Amsterdam School style by P.L. Kramer and with sculptural work by Hildo Krop of general interest because of architectural-historical value because of the aesthetic quality of the design and the ornamentation as well as of importance for the appearance of the city.
