Inleiding
In 1925 als gevolg van een verbouwing tot stand gekomen vaste PLAAT- of BALKBRUG met drie doorvaarten naar een ontwerp uit 1922 van P.L. Kramer in Amsterdamse School-stijl in opdracht van de afdeling Bruggen van de toenmalige dienst Publieke Werken in de gemeente Amsterdam. De brug (brugnummer 22) overspant de Herengracht en ligt in de Raadhuisstraat.
Omschrijving
Vaste plaatbrug met drie doorvaarten. Landhoofden van baksteen met gebeeldhouwde blokken en banden van natuursteen. Vleugels van baksteen op de uiteinden voorzien van halfronde verzwaringen van natuursteen waarop de leuning is vastgezet. Pijlers van baksteen met gebeeldhouwde blokken natuursteen, tussen de balken overgaand in pylonen. Stalen randliggers, aan de onderzijde recht aansluitend op andere en teruggelegen liggers. Op de randliggers eenvoudig geprofileerde afdeklijst. Gedecoreerde smeedijzeren balustrade, in het midden onderbroken door en vastgezet op de gedecoreerde pylonen, aan de onderzijde beeindigt door de afdeklijst.

Vaste plaat- of balkbrug naar een ontwerp in Amsterdamse School-stijl van P.L. Kramer van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorisch waarde vanwege de esthetische kwaliteit van het ontwerp alsmede van belang voor het aanzien van de stad.

In 1925 as a result of a renovation brought about, a fixed PLATE or BEAM BRIDGE with three passages according to a design from 1922 by P.L. Kramer in Amsterdam School style by order of the Bridges department of the then Public Works service in the municipality of Amsterdam. The bridge (bridge number 22) spans the Herengracht and lies in the Raadhuisstraat.
Description
Fixed plate bridge with three passages. Abutments of brick with sculptured blocks and bands of natural stone. Wings of brick at the ends provided with semi-circular reinforcements of natural stone on which the handrail is fixed. Piers of brick with sculptured blocks of natural stone, between the beams transitioning into pylons. Steel edge beams, at the underside running straight connecting to other and recessed beams. On the edge beams simply moulded cover strip. Decorated wrought-iron balustrade, in the middle interrupted by and fixed to the decorated pylons, at the underside terminated by the cover strip.
