Inleiding
In 1925 als gevolg van een verbouwing tot stand gekomen vaste PLAAT- of BALKBRUG met drie doorvaarten naar een ontwerp uit 1923 van P.L. Kramer in Amsterdamse School-stijl in opdracht van de afdeling Bruggen van de toenmalige dienst Publieke Werken in de gemeente Amsterdam. De brug (brugnummer 8) overspant het Singel en ligt in de Raadhuisstraat.
Omschrijving
Vaste plaatbrug met drie doorvaarten. Landhoofden van baksteen, op de uiteinden verzwaard met gebeeldhouwde pylonen van natuursteen. Vleugels van baksteen met op de uiteinden halfronde verzwaringen waarop de leuning is vastgezet. Pijlers van baksteen en geprofileerde natuurstenen blokken in getrapte vorm. Rechte stalen randliggers met geprofileerde stalen afdeklijst, aan de onderzijde dichtgezet en aflopend aansluitend op andere liggers. Gedecoreerde smeedijzeren balustrade met beeindiging aan de onderzijde door de afdeklijst en vastgezet op verzwaringen.

Vaste plaat- of balkbrug naar een ontwerp in Amsterdamse School-stijl van P.L. Kramer van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorisch waarde vanwege de esthetische kwaliteit van het ontwerp alsmede van belang voor het aanzien van de stad.

Introduction
In 1925 as a result of a renovation brought about, a fixed PLATE or BEAM BRIDGE with three passages according to a design from 1923 by P.L. Kramer in Amsterdam School style by order of the Bridges department of the then Public Works service in the municipality of Amsterdam. The bridge (bridge number 8) spans the Singel and lies in the Raadhuisstraat.
Description
Fixed plate bridge with three passages. Abutments of brick, at the ends reinforced with sculptured pylons of natural stone. Wings of brick with at the ends semi-circular reinforcements on which the handrail is fixed. Piers of brick and moulded natural stone blocks in stepped form. Straight steel edge beams with moulded steel cover strip, at the underside sealed and running off smoothly connecting to other beams. Decorated wrought-iron balustrade with termination at the underside by the cover strip and fixed to reinforcements.

Fixed plate or beam bridge according to a design in Amsterdam School style by P.L. Kramer of general importance for architectural-historical value owing to the aesthetic quality of the design as well as of importance for the appearance of the city.
