Inleiding
Het KLOOSTER van de zusters van het Heilig Hart is gebouwd in 1927 naar ontwerp van C. Hardeman. Op de verdieping is een kapel ingericht. Het pand staat in het centrum van Dalfsen. Om het pand geschikt te maken voor burgerbewoning is het interieur deels gewijzigd en is o.a.voorzetbeglazing geplaatst. De kapel is nog aanwezig. In de portiek bevindt zich de stichtingssteen met opschrift: " In Honorem Smi cordis Dni Nri J. Chri Me Posuit Ao Dni MCMXXVII Prid. Non Oct. Joes Galama Par. Sor Sup. Gen. Maria Josepha".
Aan de achterzijde is een nieuwe aanbouw (aan de bijkeuken) die voor de bescherming niet van belang is.
Omschrijving
Klooster opgetrokken in baksteen over twee bouwlagen vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond onder met verbeterde hollandse pannen gedekt afgeknot schilddak met getimmerd overstek op klossen. Centraal in de voorgevel bevindt zich een spitsboogvormige portiek met de entree; een houten deur met zij- en bovenlicht. Aan weerszijden twee vensters, op de verdieping vijf vensters. De twee spitsboogvensters in de rechter gevelhoek behoren tot de kapel; in de rechter zijgevel op de verdieping eveneens vier spitsboogvensters, alle gevuld met -deels gekleurd- glas-in-lood en gezet in een iets terugliggend rechthoekig gevelvlak. De overige vensters in voor en zij-gevels zijn tweeruitsvensters onder bovenlicht met roedenverdeling en gekleurd glas. Alle vensters met gemetselde lekdorpel, de rechthoekige onder rechte strek.
In het dakvlak aan de straatzijde drie dakkapellen met roedenverdeling, de middelste met zadeldakje, de andere twee plat gedekt, alle met overstek en klossen. In de overige drie dakvlakken eveneens een dakkapel met plat dak. In de achtergevel een dubbele balkondeur met zij- en bovenlichten.
In het interieur is de oorspronkelijke indeling in grote lijn nog herkenbaar en detaillering als trappenhuis, deuren en omlijsting intact. De kapel is een rechthoekige ruimte; het getimmerde plafond met klassiek geprofileerde kooflijst.
Waardering
Klooster van algemeen cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch belang:
- als huisvesting van een religieuze orde en als voorbeeld van een klooster uit het eerste kwart van de 20ste eeuw
- vanwege de gaafheid van het ex- en deels het interieur, met name van de kapel
- vanwege de zeldzaamheid van dit gebouwtype.

Introduction
The CONVENT of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart was built in 1927 to the design of C. Hardeman. On the upper floor a chapel has been installed. The building stands in the centre of Dalfsen. To make the building suitable for residential use the interior has been partly altered and, amongst other things, secondary glazing has been installed. The chapel is still present. In the porch there is the foundation stone with inscription: "In Honorem Smi cordis Dni Nri J. Chri Me Posuit Ao Dni MCMXXVII Prid. Non Oct. Joes Galama Par. Sor Sup. Gen. Maria Josepha".
On the rear side there is a new extension (to the scullery) which is not significant for protection.
Description
Convent built in brick over two storeys from a rectangular floor plan under a flat roof covered with improved Dutch tiles with a timber overhang on corbels. Centrally in the front elevation there is a pointed arch-shaped porch with the entrance; a wooden door with side and fanlight. On either side two windows, on the upper floor five windows. The two pointed arch windows in the right gable corner belong to the chapel; in the right side elevation on the upper floor likewise four pointed arch windows, all filled with partly coloured leaded glass and set in a slightly recessed rectangular gable panel. The remaining windows in front and side elevations are two-paned windows under fanlight with glazing bar division and coloured glass. All windows with brick drip moulding, the rectangular ones under straight arch.
In the roof panel facing the street three dormer windows with glazing bar division, the middle one with a gabled roof, the other two flat covered, all with overhang and corbels. In the remaining three roof panels likewise a dormer window with flat roof. In the rear elevation a double glazed door with side and fanlights.
In the interior the original layout is still largely recognisable and detailing such as staircase, doors and surrounds remain intact. The chapel is a rectangular space; the timber ceiling with classically profiled cornice.
Valuation
Convent of general cultural and architectural-historical importance:
- as accommodation of a religious order and as an example of a convent from the first quarter of the 20th century
- because of the integrity of the exterior and partly of the interior, particularly of the chapel
- because of the rarity of this building type.
