Inleiding
PAKHUIS met KANTOOR uit het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw, sober gedetailleerd met elementen uit de Neo-Renaissance. Het voormalig kantoor ligt aan het kerkplein, het voormalig pakhuis ten behoeve van de scheepvaart bevindt zich aan de achterzijde met de gevel direct aan de Gaag. Het pand maakt deel uit van de gesloten, gebogen straatwand tussen Kerkplein en Gaag en bevindt zich binnen het beschermde dorpsgezicht van Maasland.
Aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw is het pakhuis verbouwd tot bakkerij, meer recentelijk tot kantoorruimte.
Omschrijving
Het pakhuis is opgetrokken in baksteen in kruisverband op een trapeziumvormige plattegrond en wordt afgesloten met platte daken. Het smalle aan het Kerkplein gelegen drielaagse volume met voormalig kantoor heeft een gepleisterde plint en overkragende gootlijst. Op de begane grond bevindt zich een paneeldeur en een zesruits schuifvenster onder in rode en gele steen uitgevoerde getoogde anderhalfsteens strekken. Op de twee verdiepingen twee keer vierruits vensters aan weerszijden van vierruits glasdeuren met Franse balkons. Tussen de verdiepingen gesausde kalkzandsteen sierbanden en onder de gootlijst een decoratief gemetseld fries. Onder het fries bevindt zich een hijsbalk. In de zijgevels bevinden zich diverse eenruits vensters, muurankers en één zesruits schuifvenster (west). Tegen beide zijgevels bevinden zich vierkante, uitwendig gemetselde schoorstenen.
De vier bouwlagen hoge pakhuisgevel aan de Gaag heeft in de middenas op alle verdiepingen pakhuisdeuren. Deze worden in de tweede en derde bouwlaag geflankeerd door twee paar vensters met vierruits stolpramen onder tweeruits bovenlichten en in de vierde bouwlaag door vierruits stolpramen. Alle vensters worden afgesloten met in rode en gele steen uitgevoerde getoogde anderhalfsteens strekken. Onder de geprofileerde gootlijst op klossen bevindt zich een hijsbalk. Op de begane grond een gepleisterde plint met daarin gekruiste muurankers en aanlegringen en daarboven vier stolpramen zoals op de verdiepingen, een stichtingssteen en een enkelruits venster. Tussen de verdiepingen gesausde kalkzandsteen sierbanden zoals in de zuidgevel.
Waardering
Het pakhuis is van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische waarde binnen de sociaal-economische geschiedenis van Maasland, als tastbare herinnering aan de vervoersfunctie van de rivier de Gaag.

Introduction
WAREHOUSE with OFFICE from the last quarter of the nineteenth century, soberly detailed with elements from the Neo-Renaissance. The former office is located on the church square, the former warehouse for shipping is situated at the rear with the facade directly facing the Gaag. The building forms part of the closed, curved street frontage between Kerkplein and Gaag and is situated within the protected village townscape of Maasland.
At the beginning of the twentieth century the warehouse was converted into a bakery, more recently into office space.
Description
The warehouse is constructed in brick in English bond on a trapezoidal floor plan and is finished with flat roofs. The narrow three-storey volume facing the Kerkplein with former office has a plastered plinth and overhanging drip moulding. On the ground floor there is a panelled door and a six-light sash window below recessed arches in red and yellow brick one-and-a-half-brick deep. On the two storeys above, two sets of four-light windows on either side of four-light glazed doors with French balconies. Between the storeys scored ashlar stone decorative bands and beneath the drip moulding a decoratively laid brick frieze. Below the frieze is a hoist beam. The side facades contain various single-light windows, wall anchors and one six-light sash window (west). Against both side facades are square, externally laid chimneys.
The four-storey warehouse facade facing the Gaag has warehouse doors on all storeys in the central axis. These are flanked in the second and third storey by two pairs of windows with four-light casements under two-light fanlights and in the fourth storey by four-light casements. All windows are finished with recessed arches in red and yellow brick one-and-a-half-brick deep. Below the moulded drip moulding on corbels is a hoist beam. On the ground floor a plastered plinth with crossed wall anchors and mooring rings and above four casements as on the storeys above, a foundation stone and a single-light window. Between the storeys scored ashlar stone decorative bands as in the south facade.
Valuation
The warehouse is of general importance for its cultural-historical value within the socio-economic history of Maasland, as a tangible reminder of the transport function of the Gaag river.
