Inleiding
WINKELWOONHUIS, in 1900 ontworpen met in de zij- en achtergevel oudere of bestaande delen. De voorgevel is in een eclectische bouwtrant opgetrokken uit nieuwe materialen. Het pand deed oorspronkelijk dienst als bakkerij, bakkerswinkel en woonhuis van de familie Van Oudbroekhuizen. Een tegeltableau in de voorgevel duidt op deze voormalige funktie.
Omschrijving
Het winkelwoonhuis is opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt drie bouwlagen onder een met rode Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak met de nok haaks op de straat. De voorgevel is twee vensterassen breed en wordt door een geprofileerde cordonlijst in tweeën gedeeld. In elke bouwlaag komen schuifvensters voor. De gevel is boven een gecementeerde bepleisterde plint opgetrokken uit baksteen en wordt geaccentueerd door bepleisterde sierbanden en gemetselde hoeklisenen, die bekroond worden door een obelisk. Links van een liseen ter plaatse van de middenas bevindt zich in de gevel een venster, terwijl rechts een gekoppelde deur en venster zijn gezet. Deze zijn voorzien van glas-in-lood bovenlichten. De tweede bouwlaag bevat twee vensters met korfbogen met gekleurde tegels in de boogvelden. Tussen de vensters is een geglazuurd tegeltableau in art nouveaustijl geplaatst met de tekst: `Brood & Beschuit Bakkerij'. De derde bouwlaag bevat een spaarveld met rondboogvormige bovenzijde en het jaartal `1900'. Ter weerszijden zijn de vensters aan de bovenzijde voorzien van segmentbogen met aanzet- en sluitstenen. De topgevel bevat een rondboogvenster in een omlijsting van bakstenen met kraalmotief. Terzijde zijn in het muurwerk pilasters gemetseld met een hoofdgestel. De daklijsten bestaan uit witgeschilderde gevelpannen.
De achtergevel met twee traveeën is bepleisterd, voorzien van muurankers en bevat een aantal schuif- en stolpramen. In de voorkamer van het pand is een stucplafond aangebracht met ornamenten.
Waardering
Het pand is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een fraai gedetailleerd woonwinkelhuis met neorenaissance elementen in eclectische bouwtrant. Tevens is het pand van ensemblewaarde vanwege het gevelbeeld in de Volderstraat.

SHOP-DWELLING HOUSE, designed in 1900 with older or existing parts in the side and rear gable. The front facade is constructed in an eclectic architectural style from new materials. The property originally served as a bakery, baker's shop and dwelling house of the Van Oudbroekhuizen family. A tile tableau in the front facade indicates this former function.
Description
The shop-dwelling house is constructed on a rectangular floor plan and comprises three storeys under a gabled roof covered with red Dutch tiles with the ridge perpendicular to the street. The front facade is two window-bays wide and is divided into two by a moulded cordon moulding. Sash windows are present in each storey. The gable is above a cemented whitewashed plinth constructed of brick and is accentuated by whitewashed ornamental bands and mortared corner pilasters, which are topped by an obelisk. To the left of a pilaster at the location of the middle axis there is a window in the gable, while to the right a coupled door and window are placed. These are provided with leaded light fanlights. The second storey contains two windows with basket-arch mouldings with coloured tiles in the arch fields. Between the windows a glazed tile tableau in art nouveau style is placed with the text: 'Bread & Rusk Bakery'. The third storey contains a spandrel field with round-arch shaped top and the date '1900'. On either side the windows at the top are provided with segment arches with springers and keystones. The gable contains a round-arch window in a surround of bricks with bead motif. On the side pilasters are mortared in the masonry with a capital. The cornices consist of whitepainted gable tiles.
The rear gable with two bays is whitewashed, provided with wall anchors and contains a number of sash and pivot windows. In the front room of the property a stucco ceiling with ornamentation is installed.
Valuation
The property is of general importance on account of its architectural and cultural-historical value as an example of a finely detailed shop-dwelling house with neorenaissance elements in eclectic architectural style. The property is furthermore of ensemble value on account of the facade image in the Volderstraat.
