Inleiding
Aan de zuidwestelijke zijde van de Postelseweg staat de kop-romp BOERDERIJ "Veezicht - Mijn genoegen", een uit omstreeks 1930 daterende, haaks op de weg gesitueerde boerderij met een tweelaags woonhuis. De boerderij staat aan de voormalige doorgaande weg van Eersel naar Duizel, die sinds de aanleg van de E3 ter plaatse dood loopt en niet is verhard. Het open weidelandschap aan de overzijde van de straat wordt thans afgesloten door een viaduct in de autosnelweg.
Omschrijving
De boerderij heeft een T-vormige plattegrond en bestaat uit een tweelaags woonhuis en een aangebouwde, achterliggende bedrijfshal met langsdeel, beide gedekt door een zadeldak met shingles. Het woonhuis heeft een, in vergelijking met andere boerderijen, rijk versierde voorgevel. De in verschillende kleuren baksteen opgemetselde straatgevel telt twee vensterassen en heeft verticaal siermetselwerk in plint, erker en topgevel. Op de begane grond is aan de linkerzijde een paneeldeur met driedelig bovenlicht, klein houten luifel, zijlichten en kleine hardstenen brievenbus aangebracht. De in plattegrond segmentboogvormige erker onder platdak, die de voordeur aan de rechterzijde flankeert, heeft een bakstenen plint en een opbouw met vier openslaande vensters, elk met tweedelig bovenlicht. Op de verdieping zijn twee eenvoudige openslaande vensters, waarboven een topgevel met gepleisterde velden waarop geschilderde afbeeldingen van koeien en de tekst: " Veezicht / mijn genoegen". In de oostelijke, aan de zijde van de bedrijfsaanbouw uitspringende zijgevel, zijn op de begane grond een opgeklampte deur met vierruits licht, een schuifvenster, twee tweeruits lichten en een klein licht in de hal aangebracht. In de noordelijke zijgevel zijn onder meer twee tweelichts vensters, een T-venster en op de etage twee openslaande vensters aangebracht. Ter plaatse van de bedrijfsaanbouw, die door een brandmuur met schoorsteen van het woonhuis wordt gescheiden, is het zadeldak laag aangezet. De zijgevels zijn voorzien van een reeks stalvensters met luiken en een opgeklampte getoogde deur. In de hoog opgetrokken en van smeedijzeren steekankers voorziene achtergevel bevinden zich twee getoogde, asymmetrisch in de gevel geplaatste inrijpoorten.
Waardering
De boerderij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de landbouw in het zandgebied en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de boerderij in het interbellum, toen door invloeden van elders een vernieuwing in de traditionele boerderijbouw en het gemengd bedrijf teweeg werd gebracht. Architectuurhistorisch is het pand van belang vanwege de sobere ornamentiek van de voorgevel en het bijzondere type. De boerderij is belangrijk vanwege de gaafheid van het exterieur en is als voorbeeld van een veebedrijf in het interbellum als zodanig zeldzaam.

On the southwestern side of the Postelseweg stands the head-and-body FARMHOUSE "Veezicht - Mijn genoegen", a farmhouse dating from around 1930, positioned at right angles to the road with a two-storey residential house. The farmhouse stands on the former through road from Eersel to Duizel, which since the construction of the E3 has become a dead end at this location and is not paved. The open grassland landscape on the opposite side of the street is now closed off by a viaduct in the motorway.
Description
The farmhouse has a T-shaped floor plan and consists of a two-storey residential house and an adjoining, rear-situated business hall with a lengthwise section, both covered by a gabled roof with shingles. The residential house has a richly decorated street facade in comparison with other farmhouses. The street facade laid in bricks of various colours features two window bays and has vertical decorative brickwork in the plinth, oriel and gable top. On the ground floor on the left side a panelled door with three-part fanlight, small wooden canopy, side lights and small hardstone letterbox have been installed. The oriel window, segmental arch-shaped in plan beneath a flat roof, which flanks the front door on the right side, has a brick plinth and a structure with four opening windows, each with two-part fanlight. On the upper storey are two simple opening windows, above which a gable top with rendered panels bearing painted depictions of cows and the text: "Veezicht / mijn genoegen". In the eastern side facade, protruding at the side of the business extension, are installed on the ground floor a clamped door with four-pane light, a sash window, two two-pane lights and a small light in the hall. In the northern side facade are installed among others two two-light windows, a T-window and on the upper storey two opening windows. At the location of the business extension, which is separated from the residential house by a firewall with chimney, the gabled roof is set low. The side facades are provided with a series of stable windows with shutters and a clamped arched door. In the tall rear facade equipped with wrought iron wall anchors are two arched, asymmetrically placed loading doors.
Valuation
The farmhouse is of general interest. The building has cultural-historical interest as an example of the socio-economic development of agriculture in the sand region and as an example of the typological development of the farmhouse in the interwar period, when influences from elsewhere brought about a renewal in traditional farmhouse construction and mixed farming. Architecturally the property is of interest because of the restrained ornament of the street facade and the particular type. The farmhouse is important because of the integrity of its exterior and as an example of a cattle enterprise in the interwar period is as such rare.
