Inleiding
WOON/WINKELPAND maakt onderdeel uit van een gevelwand met meerdere historische winkelpanden en is direct aan de openbare weg gelegen.
De voorgevel van het gebouw is, gelet op de architectuur en de ontwikkeling van de Kamp tot winkelstraat, in het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw gebouwd.
In de bouwstijl zijn classicistische invloeden aan te wijzen, zoals de kroonlijst, het witte pleisterwerk en de casement- en pilastermotieven. De eclectische vrijheid waarmee de vormen zijn toegepast duiden op de genoemde bouwperiode. Het winkelinterieur is nog in redelijk gave toestand aanwezig.
Omschrijving
Het diepe winkelpand heeft een bij benadering rechthoekige plattegrond, met de smalle voorgevel aan de noordzijde van de Kamp. Achter de drie bouwlagen hoge lijstgevel gaan twee verdiepingen en een met blauwe Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak schuil.
De symmetrische voorgevel (zuidzijde) kan zowel horizontaal als verticaal in drieën worden onderverdeeld. De gepleisterde gevel is op een geprofileerde natuurstenen plint geplaatst, met vier risalerende voeten, waarop zich de met casementen bedekte pilasters bevinden. De plint wordt in de middentravee onderbroken door de entree in de vorm van dubbele deuren met bovenlicht. Deze entree wordt geflankeerd door éénlichts vensters met bovenlicht. In het midden van de segmentbogen boven vensters en entree zijn in half-cirkelvormige uitsparingen waaiermotieven aangebracht. De overgang van begane grond naar eerste bouwlaag wordt gemarkeerd door een cordonlijst, waarbij zowel in de lijst als in de pilasters het idee van een kapiteel tot uitdrukking wordt gebracht.
De pilasters worden in de tweede en derde bouwlaag doorgezet, met op de plaats van de kapitelen half-cirkelvormige uitkragingen. Tussen de pilasters bevinden zich teruggelegen velden met in de tweede bouwlaag T-vensters en in de derde bouwlaag tweelichts vensters. De gevel wordt beëindigd door een sterk geprofileerde kroonlijst op vier modillons.
De achtergevel kent alleen symmetrie in de tweede bouwlaag. In deze gepleisterde bouwlaag zijn drie zeslichts vensters opgenomen. Daarboven bevindt zich het schilddak met een dakkapel in het midden. Rechts is een diepe bouwmassa van een bouwlaag met plat dak, waarin de keuken is ondergebracht.
Over de gehele breedte is een glazen serre geplaatst. In de gepleisterde wand zijn een venster en een deur aangebracht.
In het interieur op de begane grond zijn nog grote delen van het oorspronkelijke winkelinterieur aanwezig. Kasten zijn gedecoreerd met pilasters en kroonlijsten en de plafonds zijn gestuct. In het pand zijn meerdere rijk versierde marmeren schouwen aanwezig.
Waardering
Het winkelpand is van algemeen belang vanwege zijn architectuurhistorische waarde als, gelet op zowel het exterieur als interieur, gaaf voorbeeld van een winkelpand, dat in neoclassicistische stijl is vormgegeven. RESIDENTIAL/SHOP BUILDING forms part of a facade with multiple historical shop buildings and is situated directly on the public road.
The front facade of the building, given the architecture and the development of the Kamp as a shopping street, was built in the last quarter of the nineteenth century.
In the building style classical influences are evident, such as the cornice, the white rendered plasterwork and the casement and pilaster motifs. The eclectic freedom with which the forms are applied point to the mentioned building period. The shop interior is still present in reasonably good condition.
Description
The deep shop building has an approximately rectangular floor plan, with the narrow front facade on the north side of the Kamp. Behind the three-storey cornice-topped facade are two storeys and a gabled roof covered with blue Dutch tiles.
The symmetrical front elevation (south side) can be subdivided into thirds both horizontally and vertically. The rendered elevation is placed on a profiled natural stone plinth, with four projecting feet, on which the pilasters covered with casements are located. The plinth is interrupted in the central bay by the entrance in the form of double doors with fanlight. This entrance is flanked by single-light windows with fanlight. In the middle of the segmental arches above windows and entrance, fan motifs are set in semi-circular recesses. The transition from ground floor to first storey is marked by a string course, in which both the string course and the pilasters express the idea of a capital.
The pilasters continue through the second and third storeys, with semi-circular corbels in place of capitals. Between the pilasters are recessed panels with T-windows in the second storey and two-light windows in the third storey. The elevation is terminated by a heavily profiled cornice on four modillions.
The rear elevation has symmetry only in the second storey. In this rendered storey are three six-light windows. Above this is the hipped roof with a roof dormer in the middle. On the right is a deep building mass of one storey with a flat roof, in which the kitchen is housed.
Across the full width is a glazed conservatory. In the rendered wall a window and a door are installed.
In the interior on the ground floor large parts of the original shop interior remain. Cabinets are decorated with pilasters and cornices and the ceilings are stuccoed. The building contains multiple richly decorated marble fireplaces.
Valuation
The shop building is of general importance for its architectural-historical value as, judged by both the exterior and interior, a well-preserved example of a shop building executed in neoclassical style. The building has ensemble value in relation to the adjoining historic buildings along this shopping street.
