Inleiding
WINKELWOONHUIS, in 1905 in opdracht van de familie Putman in neorenaissance stijl opgetrokken. Qua bouwstijl verwijst het pand naar Wijdstraat 11, dat in 1915 werd gerestaureerd maar uit de renaissance stamt. Beide trapgevels steken uit boven de overige bebouwing aan dit deel van de Wijdstraat. De winkelpui heeft art nouveaukenmerken. Het achterhuis aan de Haven dateert van voor 1915.
Omschrijving
Het wihnkelwoonhuis telt twee bouwlagen en wordt bekroond door een trapgevel. De gevel is in gele verblendsteen opgetrokken met rode geprofileerde baksteen rond de vensters, afgewisseld met natuurstenen elementen. De vensters hebben korfboogvormige ontlastingsbogen met rood-geel betegelde velden. De topgevel is voorzien van sierankers. Ter hoogte van de verdiepingen kraagt het metselwerk uit. Het pand wordt afgedekt door een zadeldak met rode Tuile du Nordpannen en is met de nok haaks op de straat gelegen.
De voorgevel heeft beneden een winkelpui die in zijn geheel wordt overspannen door één ontlastingsboog. De in het midden gelegen verdiepte ingangspartij wordt geflankeerd door twee etalagekasten van geprofileerd hout op een natuurstenen basement. De deur en het deurkalf zijn voorzien van stijlen en panelen in neorenaissancestijl. Het bovenlicht heeft een spitsboogvormige tracering met gebrandschilderd glas-in-lood. Ook de bovenlichten van de etalages bestaan uit glas-in-lood. De tweede bouwlaag bevat een drietal schuifvensters. In de topgevel is een laag met drie kleinere schuifvensters aangebracht met daarboven een tweelichts venster. De gevel wordt beëindigd met een pinakel in de vorm van een halfzuil met een leeuw als bekroning.
Het achterhuis telt twee bouwlagen onder een afgewolfd zadeldak. De bepleisterde achtergevel bevat een deur en een venster alsmede twee schuifvensters in de tweede bouwlaag en een kleiner schuifvenster in de top.
Waardering
Het woonwinkelhuis is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als redelijk gaaf voorbeeld van een gevelpand in neorenaissance stijl met art nouveau-invloeden in de winkelpui. Tevens van situationele waarde vanwege de ligging en deel uitmakend van een gesloten gevelwand.

The windows have basket arch-shaped relieving arches with red-yellow tiled panels. The top gable is provided with ornamental wall anchors. At the level of the storeys the masonry projects. The building is covered with a saddle roof with red Tuile du Nord tiles and is oriented with the ridge perpendicular to the street.
The front facade has a shop front at ground level which is entirely spanned by one relieving arch. The inset entrance section located in the centre is flanked by two display cases of moulded wood on a natural stone basement. The door and door frame are provided with styles and panels in neo-renaissance style. The fanlight has a pointed arch-shaped tracery with stained leaded glass. The fanlights of the displays also consist of leaded glass. The second storey contains three sash windows. In the top gable a row with three smaller sash windows is installed with above it a two-light window. The facade is terminated with a pinnacle in the form of a half-column with a lion as a crown.
The rear building has two storeys under a half-hipped saddle roof. The plastered rear facade contains a door and a window as well as two sash windows on the second storey and a smaller sash window in the top.

The shop-dwelling house is of general importance due to its architectural-historical value as a reasonably well-preserved example of a facade building in neo-renaissance style with art nouveau influences in the shop front. Also of situational value due to its location and forming part of a closed facade frontage.
