Inleiding
De T-BOERDERIJ is gesitueerd aan de oostelijke zijde van de kom van Macharen en dateert blijkens een gevelsteen uit 1897. Het zeer gave, traditioneel opgezette gebouw bestaat uit een woon- en een bedrijfsgedeelte.
Omschrijving
De boerderij heeft een T-vormige plattegrond met een dwars op het bedrijfsgedeelte gesitueerd woonhuis. Op het woonhuis ligt een rieten schilddak, met aansluitend op het bedrijfsgedeelte een rieten zadeldak met wolfeind. De handvorm bakstenen gevels met muizetandlijsten zijn voorzien van een gecementeerde plint. De voorgevel van het anderhalflaags woonhuis heeft vier vensterassen. Rechts van het midden is een vleugelpaneeldeur met bovenlicht, trekbel en hardstenen trap aangebracht. De vensters op de begane grond zijn alle licht getoogde T-schuifvensters met paneelluiken, de vier vensters op de etage bestaan uit eenvoudige rechthoekige lichten, alle met hardstenen dorpels. Naast de voordeur is een wit-marmeren gevelsteen met de inscriptie: "A. Strik / 1897". Het oostelijke deel van het pand is onderkelderd. In de oostelijke zijgevel een vier- en een zesruits schuifvenster, in de westelijke een drietal T-vensters. Op de nok van het dak staan twee schoorstenen met zinken kappen. De achterliggende bedrijfsaanbouw heeft in de westelijke gevel een opgeklampte inrijpoort, waarboven een laadluik naar de taszolder. Ter plaatse is het rieten dak opgewipt. In de westelijke gevel is verder een viertal naoorlogse stalvensters aangebracht. De gesloten achtergevel heeft ijzeren steekankers, een opgeklampte deur en een ijzeren stalvenster. In het interieur zijn alle ruimten in oorspronkelijke staat gebleven en zijn onder meer van belang de geut met hardstenen spoelbak en de stal met lemen vloeren. Ten westen van de boerderij staat een noot. Aan de oostzijde is een met Spaanse aak omhaagde wei met enkele fruitbomen.
Waardering
De gave, traditioneel opgezette boerderij is van algemeen belang en maakt deel uit van een cultuurhistorisch waardevol complex dat getuigt van een geografische en landschappelijke ontwikkeling in het rivierengebied, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de terpboerderij.

The T-FARMHOUSE is situated on the eastern side of the centre of Macharen and dates from 1897 according to a facade stone. The very well-preserved, traditionally constructed building consists of a residential and a business section.
Description
The farmhouse has a T-shaped floor plan with a residential house situated transversely to the business section. On the residential house lies a thatched hipped roof, with a thatched gabled roof with half-hipped roof adjoining the business section. The handmade brick facades with rat-tooth mouldings are provided with a cemented plinth. The front facade of the one-and-a-half storey residential house has four window bays. To the right of the centre is a wing-panelled door with fanlight, bell pull and sandstone steps. The windows on the ground floor are all slightly arched T-sash windows with panel shutters, the four windows on the storey consist of simple rectangular lights, all with sandstone sills. Next to the front door is a white-marble facade stone with the inscription: "A. Strik / 1897". The eastern part of the property is cellared. In the eastern side facade a four- and a six-light sash window, in the western one a number of T-windows. On the roof ridge stand two chimneys with zinc caps. The adjoining business extension has in the western facade a clamped carriage entrance, above which a loading hatch to the hay loft. At this point the thatched roof is kicked up. In the western facade a further four post-war stable windows are installed. The closed rear facade has iron wall anchors, a clamped door and an iron stable window. In the interior all rooms have remained in their original state and are notable for, among other things, the gutter with sandstone drain and the stable with clay floors. To the west of the farmhouse stands a walnut tree. On the eastern side is a meadow enclosed with Spanish fencing with some fruit trees.
Evaluation
The well-preserved, traditionally constructed farmhouse is of general importance and forms part of a culturally historic valuable complex that testifies to a geographical and landscape development in the river region, in particular the development of the terp farmhouse.
