Inleiding
In 1925 werd aan de noordzijde van de Burgemeester van Erpstraat, grenzend aan de weidegronden, dit van een rijke baksteenornamentiek voorziene WOONHUIS/BOERDERIJ van het kortgeveltype opgetrokken in traditionalistische en expressionistische vormen. De architect is E.L. Jansen uit Ravenstein die ook het gemeentehuis aan de Burgemeester van Erpstraat 2 bouwde. De opdrachtgever was de heer A.W.J. van Erp van Breugel. Het pand heeft zijn oorspronkelijke functie behouden.
Omschrijving
Geheel vrijstaande onderkelderde kortgevelboerderij op rechthoekige grondslag met gevels van machinale baksteen en twee bouwlagen onder een met pannen gedekte mansardekap. De nokrichting van het pand staat loodrecht op de straat. Aan de straatzijde bevindt zich over de breedte van het pand een ondiepe tuin met beplanting. Het pand heeft een zeer rijke baksteenornamentiek, met name in de gevels van het woongedeelte. Centraal gelegen rondboogingang met rechthoekig lijstwerk met bakstenen pilasters daaromheen. Fraaie originele houten paneeldeur met uitvoerige ornamentiek. Recht gesloten vensters met een roedenverdeling in het bovenlicht. Links van de ingang bevindt zich een vijfhoekige erker met balkon en opengewerkte bakstenen borstwering. Overige baksteenornamentiek onder andere in hoekpenanten, lisenen, lijstwerk, tandlijsten, ontlastingsbogen en schoorstenen. Centraal geplaatst jaartalschild (1925) van baksteen. De houten goot van het woongedeelte rust op klosjes. Het bedrijfsgedeelte is aanmerkelijk soberder geornamenteerd dan het woongedeelte. Ook de goot ontbreekt hier. In de zijgevel van het achterste gedeelte zijn twee de dakrand doorsnijdende dakkapellen met hooiluiken aangebracht. Helemaal achteraan bevindt zich een recht gesloten, grote houten inrijpoort. Intern is het woongedeelte van het pand op de begane grond in tweeën gedeeld. Links bevinden zich achtereenvolgens de huiskamer, de keuken, het washuis. Rechts de salon, een suite en een stookplaats. Hierachter bevindt zich het stalgedeelte met veestallen, een paardenstal en een aardappelkelder. Boven het woongedeelte bevinden zich verder de slaapkamers van de hoofdbewoners en de meidenslaapkamer. Boven het stalgedeelte bevindt zich een hooizolder.

Het woonhuis/boerderij heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van sociaal-economische ontwikkelingen. Description
Completely detached undercellared short-gable farm on rectangular ground plan with facades of machine brick and two storeys under a mansard roof covered with tiles. The ridge direction of the building is perpendicular to the street. On the street side there is a shallow garden with planting across the width of the building. The building has very rich brick ornament, in particular in the facades of the residential part. Centrally located round-arch entrance with rectangular moulded frame with brick pilasters around it. Fine original wooden panelled door with elaborate ornament. Straight-closed windows with glazing bars in the fanlight. To the left of the entrance there is a pentagonal bay with balcony and openwork brick balustrade. Other brick ornament among other things in corner quoins, pilasters, mouldings, dentil courses, relieving arches and chimneys. Centrally placed date stone (1925) of brick. The wooden gutter of the residential part rests on consoles. The business part is considerably more plainly ornamented than the residential part. The gutter is also missing here. In the side facade of the rear section two roof dormers with hay doors projecting through the roof edge are installed. At the very back there is a straight-closed, large wooden carriage entrance. Internally the residential part of the building on the ground floor is divided in two. On the left there are successively the sitting room, the kitchen, the washhouse. On the right the parlour, a suite and a stove room. Behind this is the stalling part with cattle sheds, a horse stable and a potato cellar. Above the residential part there are the bedrooms of the main occupants and the servant's bedroom. Above the stalling part there is a hay loft.
