Inleiding
Kort na 1930 geplaatste ONTGINNINGSSCHUUR van het type T 4-E, genaamd "De Eerste", gesitueerd aan de noordzijde van de Slootweg op de hoek met de Schelpenbolweg. De schuur werd direct na de droogvalling van de polder gebouwd, onder meer voor materiaalopslag ten behoeve van de ontginning van de voormalige zeebodem.
Omschrijving
Voormalige ontginningsschuur, gebouwd op rechthoekig grondplan, voorzien van een driebeukig houtskelet en gevels van gepotdekseld zwartgeteerd beschot. De schuur heeft een met golfplaten bedekt zadeldak met aankapping boven de zijbeuken.
De voorgevel (W) is een topgevel met overkragende geveltop vanaf de verdiepingsvloer. De eerste bouwlaag heeft in de middenbeuk van links naar rechts een hoge darsdeur, een liggend tweelichtsvenster en opgeklampte deur met raam. De linkerbeuk heeft een lagere darsdeur, de rechterbeuk een moderne deur met venster. De geveltop heeft vlak boven de verdiepingsvloer een dubbel opgeklampt laadluik en geheel in de top een luchtrooster met horizontale schoepen.
De linkerzijgevel (N) heeft onder de gootlijst een, door drie hoge deuren doorbroken, meerdelig lintvenster met per raam een horizontale roede. De rechterzijgevel (Z) is vervangen door een bakstenen gevel met drie deuren en een drielichts vensterreeks in gewapend beton.
De achtergevel is in opzet gelijk aan de voorgevel. De midden- en zuidbeuk hebben elk een hoge darsdeur, de noordbeuk een opgeklampte deur en dubbel tweelichtsvenster.
Waardering
De voormalige ontginningsschuur is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische (typologische) waarde als zeldzaam geworden en grotendeels gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van een gebouwd object uit de beginperiode van de Wieringermeerpolder. De voormalige ontginningsschuur heeft situationele waarde vanwege de oorspronkelijke situering aan de Slootweg, in het noordwesten van de polder.

A type T 4-E RECLAMATION BARN named "De Eerste", placed shortly after 1930, situated on the north side of the Slootweg at the corner with the Schelpenbolweg. Former reclamation barn, built on rectangular ground plan, provided with a three-aisled timber frame and facades of tarred sheathing rendered with clay. The barn has a gabled roof covered with corrugated metal with a roof cut above the side aisles.
The front facade (W) is a gable with overhanging gable top from the first floor level. The first storey has in the central aisle from left to right a high threshing door, a horizontal two-light window and a hinged door with window. The left aisle has a lower threshing door, the right aisle a modern door with window. The gable top has directly above the first floor level a double hinged loading hatch and throughout the top a louvred ventilation duct with horizontal slats.
The left side facade (N) has beneath the gutter line a continuous multi-part ribbon window interrupted by three high doors, with a horizontal mullion per window. The right side facade (S) has been replaced by a brick facade with three doors and a three-light window series in reinforced concrete.
The rear facade is in composition similar to the front facade. The central and south aisles each have a high threshing door, the north aisle a hinged door and double two-light window.
Valuation
The former reclamation barn is of general importance due to cultural and architectural historical (typological) value as a rare and largely well-preserved example of a built structure from the initial period of the Wieringermeer polder. The former reclamation barn has situational value due to its original location on the Slootweg, in the northwest of the polder.
