Inleiding

Introduction

FARM in Vernacular Traditional style with a dwelling house in Eclectic style built in 1874 on an L-shaped plan; the ridge line of the dwelling house is perpendicular to the Oosteindseweg, whereby the side of the crook house, situated at the street, forms the representative side; the ridge line of the farm building runs parallel to the road.

Description

Partially cellared farmhouse of the hall house type on L-shaped plan, the dwelling house section (transverse house) under a gabled roof with suppressed Dutch tiles and wind vanes, the farm building under a hipped roof with Dutch tiles (north side) and tuiles du Nord. The facades of the dwelling house built up in red brick are laid in English bond, the facades of the farm building rendered.

The north-facing side has in the representative symmetrical dwelling house facade a rusticated central risalit of laid stone blocks, incorporating the front door with stone step (continuing into the stone plinth), ornamental grille and fanlight in a small porch under a straight lintel. On either side two pairs of six-pane windows with leaded glass and around the fanlight a moulded surround, with neo-Louis-XIV ornament and C-scrolls. The drip mouldings merge into a drip moulding. At the ends block pilasters with between them a round arch frieze on consoles, under a drip moulding that does not continue over the central risalit. On the first floor two two-lights under courses with moulded surround and, in the risalit, a six-pane window. Towards the farm building section a simple conservatory under a lean-to roof is appended to the dwelling house.

In the north facade of the farm building three eleven-pane stable windows with radial glazing bars in the fanlight, a stable window with faceted glazing bars, a divided door, a door under a three-pane fanlight and a fourteen-pane window with radial glazing bars in the fanlight.

The non-symmetrical front (east) of the dwelling house has a three-sided bay in red-yellow brickwork, with three six-pane windows with to the left of it a six-pane window above a cellar window with anti-theft bars and a panelled door above a stone step with a two-pane fanlight. To the right of the bay a six-pane window, like the other windows under a one-and-a-half brick straight lintel and with a stone drip moulding. In the wall ornamental wall anchors and a stone plaque with the date 1874. The south side has in the dwelling house two sash windows with leaded glass, stone drip mouldings and courses, two six-pane sash windows and a pair of hay doors under brick lintels, a glazed door with leaded glass, step and cramp-fixed door under a brick lintel. In the plinth is a cellar window with anti-theft bars. The farm building has four fourteen-pane windows with radial glazing bars in the fanlight, a divided door under a four-light, a cramp-fixed door and double tall doors. Against the dwelling house section the roof slope is less steep. In the wall built up higher at this point are hay doors with on either side small windows.

The rear (south) of the farm building has a centrally placed fourteen-pane window with radial glazing bars in the fanlight.

In the interior is notably important the farm space with the original stalls; the dwelling house with the original arrangement of the rooms.
