Omschrijving

- vanwege de ouderdom;

- vanwege de architectonische vormgeving;

- vanwege de redelijk gaaf bewaarde ruimtelijke indeling en aankleding van het interieur;

- vanwege zijn beeldbepalende ligging;

Description

MAIN BUILDING HARTEKAMP, principal component of the complex historic country estate Hartekamp. The main mass of the house still consists of the house that Johan Hinloopen had built in 1693. This comprises a basement, two storeys and a hipped roof covered with tiles. The front facade is seven bays wide in total and is articulated by the slightly recessed central section of three bays with an accentuated entrance bay in front of which are a step and a landing platform. Both projecting corner sections are each two bays wide. On the corners, rusticated pilasters have been applied from the outset. Above the cornice, a sort of timber attic was added in the second half of the 19th century. The central roof dormer has had a tower-like superstructure since the 18th century with a clock incorporated in it. The rear facade is flat with in the centre a three-sided projection with a cupola following the renovation in the early 1920s spanning two storeys and terminated with a three-sided roof. The stairwells built out on the short side facades also belong to the original layout. Particularly on the ground floor these are incorporated in the side wings created by Van der Steur. On the front side, the extensions from the early 1920s by Berchtenbreiter are furthermore prominently present. These forward-projecting pavilion-like building elements are only one storey high and have a flat roof. The central bay of three is executed as a round-arched niche in which an early 20th-century sculpture is displayed. On the right depicting Diana with deer, on the left Flora. All windows were replaced by empire windows in the first half of the 19th century and provided with venetian blinds. The windows in the newer wings are adapted to these. The whole, original house and new wings, is plastered whereby the motif of the rusticated corner pilasters is taken up in the new wings. Through this a large degree of unity is achieved with a palatial character. INTERIOR. The house is in use as an office. Among other things, the spatial layout is important, which has been largely preserved with as central point the octagonal central hall spanning both storeys, crowned with a lantern in which a clock mechanism is incorporated. Through the new use, various interior finishes have been lost over time, but throughout the house wall and ceiling finishes are still found as well as fireplaces and cabinet walls.

Valuation

The MAIN BUILDING is of cultural and architectural-historical importance because of

- its age;

- its architectural design;

- its reasonably well-preserved spatial layout and interior decoration;

- its prominent townscape location;

- its functional-spatial relationship with the other components of the country estate.
