Inleiding
Vaste voetgangersBRUG over de Oude Maar/Uithuizermeedstermaar, gelegen in het open land ten noorden van de Noorderweg. De brug maakte vroeger waarschijnlijk deel uit van een kerkpad naar Uithuizen. Omstreeks 1926 is de brug vermoedelijk vervangen door het huidige brug. Dit type brug wordt in het noorden van het land "hoogholtje" genoemd. Gewoonlijk wordt hier een houten of ijzeren brug onder verstaan; een betonnen versie is een zeldzaamheid. Om het krimpen en uitzetten van het beton op te vangen zijn in de brug een paar voegen aangebracht.
De brug is bereikbaar via een betonnen fiets-/voetpad dat noordwaarts het land ingaat vanaf de Noorderweg even buiten Zandeweer.
Omschrijving
VoetgangersBRUG van gewapend beton over de Uithuizermeedstermaar. De brug bestaat uit twee opwaartse delen waartussen het vlakke brugdek is geplaatst. De opwaartse delen hebben betonnen traptreden met aan de westzijde een smalle rand voor de fiets. De brugleuningen bestaan uit betonnen pijlers met trapeziumvormige beginpijlers, met elkaar verbonden door twee stalen buizen.

Fixed footpathBRIDGE over the Oude Maar/Uithuizermeedstermaar, located in open country north of the Noorderweg. The bridge formerly probably formed part of a church path to Uithuizen. Around 1926 the bridge was presumably replaced by the current bridge. This type of bridge is called a "hoogholtje" in the north of the country. Usually a wooden or iron bridge is understood here; a concrete version is a rarity. To counteract the shrinking and expansion of the concrete, a couple of joints have been incorporated in the bridge.
The bridge is accessible via a concrete bicycle/footpath that goes northwards into the land from the Noorderweg just outside Zandeweer.
Description
Footpath BRIDGE of reinforced concrete over the Uithuizermeedstermaar. The bridge consists of two upward sections with the flat bridge deck placed between them. The upward sections have concrete treads with a narrow rail for the bicycle on the west side. The bridge railings consist of concrete pillars with trapezoidal end pillars, connected to each other by two steel tubes.
