Inleiding
Voormalige WINKELWONING, met in de winkelpui een baksteen met het jaar 1893. De timmerman/aannemer bij de bouw was F.A. Rubertus. Waarschijnlijk is meteen na de Tweede Wereldoorlog het pand als woning in gebruik genomen. Het in Ambachtelijk-traditionele trant opgetrokken pand met Eclectische elementen, ligt ingebouwd tussen twee andere panden, direct aan de Hoofdstraat van Uithuizen. Aan de achterzijde heeft het een kleine tuin, waarin een schuurtje staat onder een samengesteld lessenaarsdak dat buiten de bescherming valt vanwege te weinig kwaliteit.
Omschrijving
Deels onderkelderde WINKELWONING opgetrokken in roodbruine baksteen op een trasraam van donkere klinkers, dat onder de winkelpui is afgezet met een rand siermetselwerk. Het wolfdak, gedekt met een zwart geglazuurde Friese golfpan, heeft twee gemetselde schoorstenen op de nok, een kroonlijst aan de voorzijde en een mastgoot aan de andere gevels. De voorgevel (zuid) wordt op de begane grond voor de helft in beslag genomen door een winkelpui met omlijsting. De pui bestaat uit een groot T-venster met getoogd bovenlicht met glas-in-lood strips en een getoogde portiek met plafond met pleisterdecoraties, met daarin aan weerszijden een H-venster en een deur (niet origineel), alle met getoogd bovenlicht met glas-in-lood strips. In de portiek een hardstenen stoep en twee bakstenen met in de ene de initialen van de opdrachtgever, Wed. P.K.J. en in de andere het jaartal 1893. Links van de winkelpui twee schuifvenster met bovenlicht met glas-in-lood strips onder een segmentboog met gepleisterde sluitsteen. In de topgevel met vlechtwerk en sierankers, twee getoogde T-vensters onder een rollaag met gepleisterde sluitsteen.
De oostgevel is blind en heeft muurankers en gemetselde klossen onder de mastgoot. De noordgevel heeft vier vensters (niet origineel) en in de met vlechtwerk en muurankers uitgeruste topgevel twee zaadvensters onder een rollaag. De westgevel heeft een samengesteld venster (niet origineel).
Het INTERIEUR is dusdanig gewijzigd dat het buiten de rijksbescherming valt.

Introduction
Former SHOP HOUSE, with a brick in the shop front bearing the year 1893. The carpenter/contractor in the construction was F.A. Rubertus. It is likely that shortly after the Second World War the property was taken into use as a dwelling. The property, built in a traditional Craft style with Eclectic elements, lies built in between two other properties, directly on the Hoofdstraat of Uithuizen. On the rear side it has a small garden, in which a small shed stands under a composite lean-to roof that falls outside protection due to insufficient quality.
Description
Partially cellared SHOP HOUSE built in reddish-brown brick on a trasraam of dark clinkers, which is marked off under the shop front with a border of ornamental brickwork. The half-hipped roof, covered with a black glazed Frisian corrugated tile, has two brick chimneys on the ridge, a cornice at the front and a master gutter on the other facades. The front facade (south) is occupied on the ground floor for half its width by a shop front with surround. The front consists of a large T-window with arched fanlight with leaded glass strips and an arched portico with ceiling with plaster decorations, with an H-window and a door (not original) on either side, all with arched fanlight with leaded glass strips. In the portico a hardstone step and two bricks, one with the initials of the client, Wed. P.K.J. and in the other the year 1893. To the left of the shop front two sash windows with fanlight with leaded glass strips under a segmental arch with plastered keystone. In the top gable with decorative brickwork and wall anchors (ornamental), two arched T-windows under a course with plastered keystone.
The east facade is blank and has wall anchors and brick corbels under the master gutter. The north facade has four windows (not original) and in the top gable fitted with decorative brickwork and wall anchors two seed windows under a course. The west facade has a composite window (not original).
The INTERIOR has been so modified that it falls outside national monument protection.
