Inleiding
Een IJSKELDER (2) uit 1842, waarvoor de eerste steen is gelegd door M.J.
Gevers van Endegeest. De ijskelder was bestemd voor de opslag van ijs, dat tijdens de wintermaanden uit de kasteelgracht werd gehaald, om levensmiddelen koel te houden. De entree ligt aan de noordwestzijde.
Oorspronkelijk was de ijskelder ca. 1,7 m diep, maar door een functiewijziging tot berghok, ligt de vloer tegenwoordig ca. 0,7 m. onder de vloerhoogte van het portaal. Het houten luik, dat zich ca. 80 cm boven de vloerhoogte van de portaalvloer bevond ontbreekt. Een algehele restauratie van de ijskelder vond plaats in 1995.
Omschrijving
Van een aarden dekking voorziene, ronde bakstenen ijskelder met gedrukte koepel en een voorportaal met twee compartimenten, afgesloten door een flauw gebogen frontmuur met rondbogige houten deur. De anderhalfsteens dikke buitenmuur is opgetrokken uit gele ijsselsteen. De inwendige ruimte, met een diameter van ca. 2,50 m, is overdekt met een concentrisch gemetseld koepelgewelf met een oorspronkelijk kruinhoogte van ca. 3,30 m. Boven de oorspronkelijke kleilaag ligt onder een dunne laag zand een stenen vloer.
Het aan de kelder grenzende compartiment heeft anderhalfsteens muren en een iets schuin aflopend flauw gebogen tongewelf. De met klinkers bestrate portalen waren oorspronkelijk van elkaar gescheiden door een houten deur. Doordat het aan de buitenmuur grenzende compartiment éénsteens muren heeft, is dit portaal, met flauw gebogen tongewelf iets breder. De symmetrisch ingedeelde frontmuur, opgetrokken uit herbruikte grauwe baksteen in kruisverband (knipvoeg), heeft licht naar voren gebogen vleugels, afgedekt door een rollaag. Hardstenen neuten en hoekblokjes bij de rollaag. In het midden een rondbogige houten opgeklampte deur. Rechts ervan een hardstenen stichtingssteen met de tekst: 'M.J. Gevers van Endegeest, 24 okt 18(42)'.

The internal space, with a diameter of approximately 2.50 m, is covered with a concentrically built barrel vault with an original crown height of approximately 3.30 m.
