Omschrijving
Omschrijving
Waardering
- de aanleg in landschapsstijl met een uitgekiende afwisseling van open en gesloten gedeelten, vijverpartijen, accidentatie, doorzichten in en buiten het park, alles (tot en met de begrenzing van het park) in slingerende en gebogen lijnen;
- de schoonheid en kwaliteit van de samenstellende onderdelen (gazons, vijvers, waarvan één met eilandjes), ook in relatie tot de bebouwing; - de gaafheid van de structuur van het park;
- de zeldzaamheid van zulke gave parken in landschapsstijl, vrijwel uitsluitend gericht op vermaak, waar juist in Noord-Brabant utilitaire aspecten vaak zo'n grote rol spelen.

Description
Description
The park is characterized by an alternation of open and enclosed areas by means of lawns, copses, tree groups, ponds and watercourses. Of the situation from around 1862 (the construction of the present house and coach house) hardly any elements have been preserved. The layout from then, later further extended and altered, is probably wholly or partly the work of landscape gardener Pierre Lieven Rosseels and possibly his son.
The entrance to the park is formed by the gate (5) near a pond area (widening of the watercourse that follows the boundary of the park) and accidentation. A winding avenue leads to the house (1) and coach house (3). From the house and its immediate surroundings there are sight lines to the north and south. The one to the north over the lawn and the pond, whereby the view to the adjacent open land is guided by means of elevations, tree groups and two solitary oaks on either side of the pond. In the left elevation the ice house (8). The sight line to the south leads over the large lawn, via a base (7) to the southern edge where the park transitions into a forest with flower beds. Next to the coach house is the kitchen garden (4). The walk is continued from the house in an easterly direction, over a bridge, to a crossroads with rhododendrons, among oaks. In a northerly direction the path leads through a gate (6) along the edge of the country estate to the main entrance (5). In a southerly direction the path, likewise with a curved line, leads in along the large pond. This curved pond with small islands borders wooded areas and lawns. From the path there are alternating views of forest, of the pond or even over the pond to the large lawn south of the house. Eventually the path emerges at that lawn (direct sight relationship with the house), to subsequently via a winding course along the kidney-shaped pond in the west of the park to arrive again at the coach house (3). Incidentally, some sight lines have partly become obscured by growth.
The boundary is formed by the various watercourses around the park and the vegetation directly bordering them.
The planting is now largely determined by oaks, also by beeches and acacias, in the copses yew, rhododendron and other evergreen shrubs. Originally the vegetation was more varied.
Valuation
The park, in its present layout essentially of the 19th and early 20th century, is of general importance because of:
- the layout in landscape style with a carefully considered alternation of open and enclosed sections, pond areas, accidentation, sight lines in and out of the park, all (including the boundary of the park) in winding and curved lines;
- the beauty and quality of the constituent elements (lawns, ponds, of which one with small islands), also in relation to the buildings;
- the integrity of the structure of the park;
- the rarity of such intact parks in landscape style, devoted almost exclusively to pleasure, where precisely in North Brabant utilitarian aspects often play such a major role.
