De KOOIKERSWONING is evenwijdig gelegen aan de Thematerkade, welke parallel ligt aan de rijksweg A2. Het pand is een kleine langhuisboerderij en dateert uit de achttiende eeuw. De op rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken boerderij telt één bouwlaag onder een rietgedekte kap met dakschilden met verschillende goothoogten en van formaat verschillende wolfseinden. De gevels zijn boven een zwartgeteerde plint opgetrokken in baksteen en deels bepleisterd, deels witgeschilderd. De voorgevel of zuidoostgevel is een afgeknotte topgevel met in het midden een dubbel draaivenster met bovenlicht en luiken. Aan weerskanten is in de hoeken een klein venster gezet. Onder het wolfseind bevindt zich een openslaand venster met liggende lage langsgevels. De zuidwestgevel heeft een tweetal kleine vensters met klepramen, de noordoostgevel gelijke vensters. De achtergevel is een afgeknotte topgevel met in het midden een entree met houten portaal en ter weersziden een venster. Links en rechts in de gevel zijn lager geplaatste openslaande vensters gezet. Het interieur is oorspronkelijk qua indeling met uitzondering van de deel, die is ingericht als woonhuis. Een aantal deuren en lijsten is authentiek. De vloer is gedeeltelijk samengesteld uit bakstenen, afkomstig van de middeleeuwse ruïne van kasteel De Haar.
Waardering
De woning is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als gaaf voorbeeld van een kooikerswoning. Tevens van functioneel belang als onderdeel van het landgoed De Haar situationele waarde vanwege de relatie met de achter het pand gelegen eendenkooi en het bijbehorende tuinpaviljoen.

Description
The DECOY KEEPER'S HOUSE is situated parallel to the Thematerkade, which runs parallel to the motorway A2. The property is a small hall-type farmhouse and dates from the eighteenth century. The farmhouse erected on a rectangular ground plan comprises one storey under a thatched roof with roof tiles with different eaves heights and of varying size half-hipped ends. The facades are above a black tarred plinth constructed of brick and partly plastered, partly whitewashed. The front facade or south-east gable is a truncated gable with in the centre a double casement window with fanlight and shutters. On either side a small window is placed in the corners. Below the half-hipped end is a casement window with low horizontal long-side facades. The south-west gable has a pair of small windows with drop lights, the north-east gable similar windows. The rear gable is a truncated gable with in the centre an entrance with wooden portico and either side a window. Left and right in the gable lower-placed casement windows are set. The interior is original as to layout with the exception of the threshing floor, which has been fitted out as a dwelling house. A number of doors and cornices are authentic. The floor is partially composed of bricks, originating from the medieval ruin of castle De Haar.
Valuation
The house is of general importance because of its architectural and cultural-historical value as an unspoilt example of a decoy keeper's house. Also of functional importance as a component of the estate De Haar and situational value because of its relationship with the duck decoy behind the property and the associated garden pavilion.
