Inleiding
Houten WOONHUIS van het type OW, behorende bij het complex van vijf houten woonhuizen aan de Acacialaan, gebouwd in 1948. Deze als Oostenrijkse woningen bekende huizen zijn in 1948-1949 gebouwd in de Noordoostpolder voor de huisvesting van ambtenaren en als pachterswoning bij montageboerderijen. De door het Ministerie van Wederopbouw als bouwpakket uit Oostenrijk geïmporteerde woning is geplaatst door de Directie van de Wieringermeer afdeling Noordoostpolderwerken. Deze woning maakt onderdeel uit van een complex van vijf, oorspronkelijk als tijdelijk onderkomen bedoelde woningen aan de Acacialaan, die een ensemble vormen met zeven identieke montagewoningen aan de Berkenlaan. In 1963 heeft het huis nieuwe ramen en openslaande deuren gekregen. Verder is het pand in vrijwel ongewijzigde staat bewaard gebleven.
Omschrijving
De evenwijdig aan de straat staande Oostenrijkse woning is opgebouwd vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in bruin geverfde, staande planken boven een onderbouw van beton. Het verdiepingloze huis staat onder een met oranje, verbeterde Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak met steile dakschilden, een flauwe zeeg en een gemetselde schoorsteen op de nok, die in 1979 is verwijderd. Alle gevelopeningen zijn rechtgesloten en voorzien van wit geschilderde, met de gevels contrasterend kozijnen en ramen. De rechter kopgevel is gewijzigd op de begane grond, waar de openslaande glasdeuren zijn vervangen door een enkele deur met zijlicht. Het zoldervenster bevat twee klapramen als die in de andere kopgevel. In de evenwijdig aan de weg staande langsgevel staan twee vensters, waarvan het linker het oorspronkelijke formaat heeft en het rechter is vergroot. De linker kopgevel is als de kopgevels in de meeste andere woningen met twee kleine vensters links van de deur. De zolderverdieping is voorzien van een venster met twee klapramen als die in de andere kopgevel. Linksachter tegen het huis staat een 1961 gebouwde houten garage, die niet onder de bescherming valt. Een aan de garage toegevoegd bouwdeel met keuken dateert uit 1979 en valt eveneens buiten de bescherming.
Het eveneens onder de bescherming vallende rechthoekige, achter en haaks op het huis staande bakstenen schuurtje staat op een betonnen basis en onder een met oranje pannen gedekt zadeldak met flauwe zeeg. De langsgevels zijn voorzien van decoratief metselwerk aan de bovenrand. Het schuurtje is tegenwoordig verbonden met een houten aanbouw linksachter, die ook buiten de bescherming valt.
Waardering
Het woonhuis behorende bij een complex van vijf houten huizen, is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de stedenbouwkundige en de architectuurhistorische waarde.
- Het huis is van cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege het grote belang van dit type woonhuis voor de Wederopbouw van Nederland in het algemeen en voor de ontwikkeling van de Noordoostpolder in het bijzonder.

Wooden DWELLING of the OW type, forming part of the complex of five wooden dwellings on the Acacialaan, built in 1948. These houses, known as Austrian dwellings, were built in 1948-1949 in the Noordoostpolder for the housing of civil servants and as tenant dwellings at assembly farms. The dwelling, imported as a building kit from Austria by the Ministry of Reconstruction, was erected by the Directorate of the Wieringermeer, Noordoostpolderwerken division. This dwelling forms part of a complex of five dwellings on the Acacialaan, originally intended as temporary accommodation, which form an ensemble with seven identical assembly dwellings on the Berkenlaan. In 1963 the house received new windows and glazed doors. The building has otherwise been preserved in virtually unaltered condition.
Description
The Austrian dwelling, standing parallel to the street, is constructed on a rectangular plan. The facades are built of brown-painted, vertical planking above a concrete substructure. The single-storey house stands under a saddle roof clad with orange, improved Dutch tiles with steep roof slopes, shallow eaves and a brick chimney on the ridge, which was removed in 1979. All facade openings are rectangular and fitted with white-painted frames and windows contrasting with the facades. The right gable end has been altered on the ground floor, where the glazed sliding doors have been replaced by a single door with sidelights. The attic window contains two casement windows like those in the other gable end. In the long facade parallel to the road are two windows, the left one retaining its original size and the right one enlarged. The left gable end is like the gable ends in most of the other dwellings with two small windows to the left of the door. The attic storey is provided with a window containing two casement windows like those in the other gable end. To the rear left against the house stands a wooden garage built in 1961, which is not under protection. A building section with kitchen attached to the garage dates from 1979 and is likewise outside the protection.
The rectangular brick shed, also under protection, standing behind and at right angles to the house, stands on a concrete base and under a saddle roof clad with orange tiles with shallow eaves.
