Inleiding

Description
Introduction
The farmhouse dates from 1860 and is one of three similar farmhouses, built for three daughters. The foundation stone is set into the front gable. The text reads "The foundation stone of Anna's Hoeve laid by A.H. Nieuwenhuijs on 8 June 1860". Originally the farmhouse was thatched with reed. In the south gable several windows have been enlarged. The front house with part of the rear house (former rinsing room) has been adapted for double occupancy. The farmhouse, markedly situated in the landscape, is somewhat set back from the road and is accessible via a drive that splits around a flowerbed in front of the farmhouse. Various solitary trees stand on the premises, including maple, copper beech and chestnut.
Description
The TRANSVERSE-HOUSE FARMHOUSE has a (Latin) cross-shaped floor plan and consists of one storey under intersecting gabled roofs. The front house on a T-shaped floor plan has a projecting section on the centre axis on the front side. The roof is covered with raked and newly improved Dutch tiles. The roof overhang of the front house is carried by carved corbels. Along the roof edge wind vanes and drip mouldings have been applied. The drip moulding along the top gable on the left side has disappeared. The plastered front house has gable surrounds at the top gables, within which fields with imitation mortar joints. The rear house is built up in brick in stretcher bond. Above the window and door openings stone lintels have been applied and in the rear gable along the roof edge wattle is present.
The front house contains double herringbone-arched casement windows or double glass doors with X-shaped glazing bars and shutters. Round windows have been placed in the top gables, partly fitted with glazing bars and partly with a casement window.
The north side of the front house contains a cellar with barrel vaults.
The front gable (west side) of the projecting central section contains a double door with shutters with the foundation stone above it and in the top gable a round window with glazing bars. The side gables of the risalit likewise have a double door with shutters. In the right side gable there is also an entrance door with herringbone-arched fanlight. The left arm of the front house contains in the front and side gable a window with shutters above a cellar light with security bars. In the top gable a round window with glazing bars has been placed. The right arm has in the front and side gable a window without glazing bars and without shutters. In the top gable a round window with casement sash is placed.
The rear house has in the right gable a door with herringbone-arched fanlight, two modified herringbone-arched windows, between which an added rectangular window and three herringbone-arched barn windows. In the left gable herringbone-arched barn windows have been placed.
The rear gable has in the middle a door with herringbone-arched fanlight with to the right and left a barn door and on the upper storey two barn windows as in the side gables.
The rear house contains a central threshing floor flanked by a stable space with dung passage. The hay loft is accessible via a hatch in a wooden roof dormer on the right side of the roof.
Valuation
The farmhouse is of general importance because of its architectural-historical value as an example of a transverse-house farmhouse on a cross-shaped floor plan, as well as because of its well-preserved main form and striking detailing, such as the plastered front house, the herringbone-arched windows and the decorative woodcarving along the roof. Furthermore, the farmhouse is valuable because of its striking situation in the landscape.
