Inleiding
HOUTEN WOONHUIS, genaamd de Riethoeve, uit 1929 naar ontwerp van de Apeldoornse aannemer/bouwkundige Martin Huigen (1898-1962). Het huis is één van de panden in Hoog Soeren die door Huigen zijn ontworpen. Daaronder bevinden zich meerdere houten huizen.
Recent is het pand gerestaureerd. Daarbij zijn de borstweringen van de balkons gewijzigd en is het glas-in-lood vervangen door dubbel glas tussen houten roeden.
Omschrijving
Het houten pand is opgetrokken op L-vormige grondslag en telt één bouwlaag. Het pand bestaat uit een hoofdmassa en een haaks daarop staande korte uitbouw onder twee haaks op elkaar staande, met riet gedekte daken met ongelijke nokhoogte en gebogen dakvlakken. Het dak van de korte uitbouw heeft een lagere nok.
De gevels zijn bekleed met houten delen deels in potdekselwerk en deels horizontaal, deels verticaal.
De VOORGEVEL heeft in het midden op de begane grond een uitbouw, waarboven een balkon. Deze uitbouw bevat in het midden een deur en rechts daarvan, en daaraan gekoppeld, een 2-ruits stolpvenster. Links van de uitbouw bevindt zich eveneens een deur met glaspaneel, rechts een 2-ruits stolpvenster. Het balkon is toegankelijk via twee deuren met glaspaneel, met daartussen twee enkelruits vensters.
De LINKER ZIJGEVEL bevat in het midden een portiek met entree, bestaande uit een deur met ter weerszijden een hoog geplaatst venster. Links van de portiek een smal enkelruits venster en rechts een kruisvenster. Het dakvlak heeft een dakkapel met drielicht.
De ACHTERGEVEL bevat op de begane grond links een drielicht en rechts een stolpvenster. De verdieping heeft een breed venster met twee gekoppelde stolpvensters.
De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL heeft in de uitbouw op de begane grond zowel links als rechts een 2-ruits stolpvenster (het rechter venster is op de bouwtekening enkel). De verdieping heeft een drielicht. De geveltop is aan deze zijde ver uitkragend en rust op consoles.
In de binnenhoek tussen hoofdbouw en uitbouw bevindt zich een erkerachtige uitbouw van één bouwlaag met daarboven een balkon. De uitbouw heeft rondom vensters. Het balkon is bereikbaar via twee deuren.
Bij het pand behoort een houten berging met een tentdak met gebogen dakvlakken, gedekt met riet. De gevels zijn bekleed met houten delen deels in potdekselwerk en deels horizontaal, deels verticaal.
Waardering

The wooden building is constructed on an L-shaped ground plan and comprises one storey. The balcony is accessible via two doors with glass panels, with between them two single-light windows.
The LEFT SIDE GABLE contains in the centre a porch with entrance, consisting of a door with a high-placed window on either side. To the left of the porch a narrow single-light window and on the right a cross window. The roof plane has a roof dormer with a three-light.
The REAR GABLE contains on the ground floor on the left a three-light and on the right a sash window. The upper storey has a wide window with two coupled sash windows.
The RIGHT SIDE GABLE has in the extension on the ground floor both on the left and on the right a 2-light sash window (the right window is single on the building plan). The upper storey has a three-light. The gable apex on this side projects far and rests on consoles.
In the interior angle between main building and wing is an alcove-like extension of one storey with above it a balcony. The extension has windows all around. The balcony is accessible via two doors.
Attached to the building is a wooden storage shed with a tent roof with curved roof planes, covered with thatch. The facades are clad with wooden components, partly in shingle work and partly horizontally, partly vertically.
