Inleiding
HERENHUIS, deel uitmakend van de luxe bebouwing langs de Maliebaan in aansluiting op de Maliesingel, gebouwd omstreeks 1870 voor de familie Ram in eclectische stijl, frontgevel vrijliggend aan tuin met hek, van de straat afgekeerd, ter rechterzijde.
Omschrijving
Aan drie zijden vrijstaand pand op vierkante plattegrond, van drie bouwlagen onder plat dak. Geheel gepleisterde gevels op stenen plint met op begane grond schijnvoegen. De gevel aan de Maliebaan is twee traveeën breed met op beganegrond twee maal twee houten zesruits vensters op hardstenen basement met gestucte decoraties en hardstenen vensterdorpel, op beide verdiepingen grote drielichtvensters met Tudorbogen, hardstenen vensterbanken en profilering. Drie traveeën brede, vrijliggende frontgevel met afgeschuinde hoeken. De ingang is gelegen in de middentravee met daaronder een overdekt, ovaalvormig ijzeren balkon op slanke ijzeren zuilen. Deze ijzeren zuiltjes zetten zich voort tot aan de balkon overkapping. Derde bouwlaag met schuifvensters met hardstenen vensterdorpels en geprofileerde, tympaanvormige bekroning. Langs alle gevels beëindiging met kroonlijst op bewerkte consoles.
De tuin wordt afgesloten door een fraai hekwerk.

HERENHUIS met tuin en hek van algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische waarde als goed en gaaf voorbeeld van een herenhuis in eclectische bouwstijl. Description
Property free-standing on three sides on square plan, of three storeys under flat roof. Entirely plastered facades on stone plinth with false joints on ground floor. The facade on the Maliebaan is two bays wide with on ground floor two times two wooden six-pane windows on hardstone basement with stuccoed decoration and hardstone window sill, on both upper storeys large three-light windows with Tudor arches, hardstone window sills and moulding. Three bays wide, free-standing front facade with chamfered corners. The entrance is located in the middle bay with below it a covered, oval-shaped iron balcony on slender iron columns. These small iron columns continue up to the balcony canopy. Third storey with sash windows with hardstone window sills and profiled, tympanum-shaped crowning. Along all facades termination with cornice on worked consoles.
The garden is enclosed by fine ironwork.

TOWNHOUSE with garden and fence of general importance by virtue of architectural-historical value as a good and intact example of a townhouse in eclectic architectural style. Also of urban planning importance as part of an important ensemble of buildings of stately townhouses filling the street wall on the Maliebaan.
