Inleiding
HERENHUIS, voor sigarenfabrikant Ribbius Pelletier, in 1870 gebouwd in overwegend neo-renaissancestijl. In aaneengesloten gevelwand oostelijk van de Oudegracht-Tolsteegzijde gelegen.
Omschrijving
Eertijds samengesteld herenhuis (deels onderkelderd) van oorspronkelijk drie bouwlagen en zadeldak, nu grotendeels vier bouwlagen onder plat dak. Drie traveeën brede lijstgevel uitgevoerd in natuursteen, pleister en terracotta. Met blokken gedecoreerde natuurstenen begane grond met keldervensters, twee schuifvensters en links een deur. Gepleisterde tweede en derde bouwlaag met resp. schuifvensters en Franse balkons met persiennes en stolpramen. Verdiepingen gescheiden door waterlijst en consoles.
Hoge kroonlijst met zware terracotta consoles, daarboven geprofileerde daklijst met klossen.
Interieur met onder meer oorspronkelijk trappenhuis met rijke stucdecoraties.
Waardering
HERENHUIS van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een stadswoning opgetrokken in een op de Franse Renaissance teruggrijpende bouwstijl. Van cultuurhistorische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een ontwikkeling waarin fabrikanten als de nieuwe elite zich vestigen in stadscentra. In het onderhavige geval loopt de bloei in de sigarenfabricage parallel aan die ontwikkeling. Het pand heeft in relatie tot het fabriekspand Oudegracht 364 ensemblewaarde.

Description
Formerly composite detached house (partly with basement) originally of three storeys and gabled roof, now largely four storeys under flat roof. Three bays wide cornice-topped facade executed in natural stone, plaster and terracotta. Ground storey decorated with blocks of natural stone with basement windows, two sash windows and a door on the left. Plastered second and third storey with respectively sash windows and French balconies with venetian blinds and casement windows. Storeys separated by drip moulding and consoles.
High cornice with heavy terracotta consoles, above which moulded roof cornice with blocks.
Interior with amongst others originally staircase with rich stucco decorations.
Valuation
Detached house of general importance owing to its architectural-historical value as a good example of an urban dwelling built in a style drawing on French Renaissance. Of cultural-historical value as a good example of a development in which manufacturers as the new elite established themselves in city centres. In this case the flourishing of cigar manufacture runs parallel to this development. The building has ensemble value in relation to the factory building Oudegracht 364.
