In 1906 gebouwd voormalig WINKELWOONHUIS van levensverzekeringsmaatschappij "De Utrecht" naar ontwerp van J.F. Staal en A.J. Kropholler met sterk naar de Moorse bouwstijl verwijzende elementen.

Onderkelderd pand op rechthoekige plattegrond met drie bouwlagen en stijl zadeldak tussen tuitgevel loodrecht op de rooilijn en vooraan een dwars geplaatst zadeldakje. Voorgevel geheel bekleed met platen van gepolijst roze graniet, met kantelen als gevelbeëindiging. Beganegrond met terugliggende winkelpui uitgevoerd in brons en hout met driezijdige portiek waarin winkel- en wooningang zijn gesitueerd. Tweede en derde bouwlaag met drie gekoppelde vensters met deelzuilen, op tweede bouwlaag inpandig balkon vormend. De orientaalse invloed komt sterk tot uiting in de rondbogen Achtergevel met hoge rondboogvormige toegang tot de kelder, achter overbouwde werf, daarboven drie bouwlagen en topgevel met zolder met kleine zijlichten. Gekoppelde vensters met hardstenen omlijsting en deelzuiltjes. Boven venster derde bouwlaag in kunststeen uitgevoerd symbool voor de levensverzekeringsmaatschappij. Hijsbalk in de geveltop.

Undercellared building on rectangular plan with three storeys and hipped roof between spout gable perpendicular to the building line and at the front a transversely placed hipped roof. Front facade entirely clad with polished pink granite plates, with crenellations as gable finish. Ground floor with recessed shop front executed in bronze and wood with three-sided portico in which shop and residential entrances are situated. Second and third storeys with three paired windows with pilasters, forming an internal balcony on the second storey. The oriental influence is strongly expressed in the round arches. Rear facade with high round arch-shaped access to the cellar, behind an enclosed yard, above it three storeys and top gable with attic with small side lights. Paired windows with sandstone frame and small pilasters. Above window third storey in artificial stone executed symbol for the life insurance company. Hoist beam in the gable top.
