Inleiding
VILLA, met de naam Lievendaal, gebouwd in opdracht van G. Reede in 1862 in eclectische stijl op het Lepelenburg, na de ontruiming van het bolwerk ten behoeve van de plantsoenaanleg van Zocher, met uitbreiding uit 1903 in de vorm van een aanbouw aan de noordzijde en tuinen en bijbehorend hekwerk. De villa is op een heuvel gebouwd om de achterliggende Bruntenhof aan het zicht te onttrekken.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaande geheel gepleisterde villa met tuin en hek, op asymmetrische plattegrond met een rechthoekig deel van twee bouwlagen en pannen dak, aan de zuidzijde een hogere hoektoren, met 7/8 sluiting aan de voet een houten veranda. Aan de noordzijde een lagere, rechthoekige aanbouw uit 1903 met driezijdige sluiting.
In het middendeel en de noordelijke aanbouw T-schuifvensters (verdieping), en dito ramen met gedeelde bovenlichten; in de ronde toren rondboogvensters.
Tussen de bouwlagen een brede band. De gevelbeëindiging is in de vorm van de gevels omlopende kroonlijst, met stucdecoraties. De achtzijdige overkragende torenbeëindigng rust op een kroonlijst op consoles.
De oorspronkelijke achteringang is gelegen in de wal aan het Bruntenhof.
Waardering
Villa van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als goed en gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een in Eclectische bouwstijl opgetrokken villa.
