Inleiding
Drie in 1865 tot WARENHUIS samengevoegde en verbouwde oudere herenhuizen, (Groot en Klein Schorenburg, met in Eclectische stijl uitgevoerde gevel.
N.B. De bescherming geldt de panden aan de Oudegracht tot een diepte van 17 meter vanaf de rooilijn. Daarachter ligt de nieuwbouw tot aan de Steenweg.
Omschrijving
Drie, onderkelderde, middeleeuwse panden, met werfkelders, samengevoegd achter een 19e eeuwse gevel van drie bouwlagen en drie kappen haaks op de rooilijn: een schilddak links, en zadeldak in het midden en een zadeldak met voorschild rechts. Tot een rechthoekige winkelruimte samengevoegde begane grond; in de bovenbouw zijn de afzonderlijke panden nog herkenbaar, met onder meer in het middelste pand een middeleeuwse eiken kap met tweejukkige spanten. De gepleisterde voorgevel is een zeven traveeën brede lijstgevel met op de begane grond een hardstenen, deels vernieuwde winkelpui met originele puilijst. Op de verdiepingen houten stolpramen met geprofileerde omlijsting en kuiven. De gevel wordt geleed door hoeklisenen en verticale en horizontale sierlijsten, op de kruising hiervan zijn leeuwekoppen in medaillons geplaatst. Op de gevel zijn diverse soorten decoraties aangebracht, onder meer in de opgelegde velden onder de kroonlijst, voorts onder en boven de sierlijsten. De decoraties zijn voornamelijk van terra-cotta. Onder de kroonlijst rijk bewerkte consoles. Boven de kroonlijst drie, door middel van een balustrade met elkaar verbonden uitbundig gedecoreerde opzetgeveltjes, waarvan twee uitgevoerd als dakkapel.

Warenhuis van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een eclectische bouwstijl en vanwege de bouwhistorische waarde vanwege de nog aanwezige oudere onderdelen. Description
Three, undercellared, medieval properties, with yard-cellars, combined behind a 19th century facade of three storeys and three roofs perpendicular to the building line: a hipped roof on the left, and a gabled roof in the middle and a gabled roof with front gable on the right. To a rectangular shop space combined ground floor; in the upper storeys the individual properties are still recognisable, with among others in the middle property a medieval oak roof with two-yoke rafters. The rendered front facade is a seven-bay-wide cornice-topped facade with on the ground floor a hard stone, partly renewed shopfront with original shop-rail. On the storeys wooden casement windows with profiled frame and hoods. The facade is articulated by corner lists and vertical and horizontal decorative lists, at the intersection of which lion heads are placed in medallions. Various types of decorations are applied to the facade, among others in the applied fields below the cornice, furthermore below and above the decorative lists. The decorations are mainly terra-cotta. Below the cornice richly worked consoles. Above the cornice three, by means of a balustrade connected to each other elaborately decorated applied roof-gablelets, two of which are executed as dormer windows.
