Inleiding
In 1865 in neo-classicistische stijl verbouwd ouder pand, bestemd als SOCIETEIT en gelegen op de hoek van Jansdam en Keistraat.
Omschrijving
SOCIETEITSGEBOUW op rechthoekige plattegrond en bestaande uit hoofdzaal en bijgebouw. De voorbouw met voorgevel aan de Jansdam, is geheel onderkelderd en heeft één zeer hoge bouwlaag, gevolgd door een mezzaninoverdieping met opgelegde velden tussen de vierkante vensters onder een zadeldak met flauwe helling. Het achterste deel heeft twee bouwlagen met langs de Keistraat een naar links omgezet L-vormige mansardekap en verder een plat dak. De geheel gepleisterde gevels aan de Jansdam- en Keistraat-zijde zijn resp. drie en negen venstertraveën breed op een natuurstenen plint, waarbij het middelste venster aan de Jansdam, met een door consoles ondersteunde kroonlijst met kuif vervangen is door een ingang. De overige vensters van de voorbouw met omlijsting en kroonlijst. Brede kroonlijst ter afsluiting met daarboven nog gepleisterd tympaan met dubbelvenster aan Jansdamzijde. Achterbouw met tweemaal zes venstertraveeën bezit begane gronds links één ingang met klassieke omlijsting met tympaan in het licht risalerend linkervlak. Interieur gaaf bewaard met diverse in classicistische stijl uitgevoerde stucplafonds met ondermeer rosetten, schilderingen en rocaille- elementen.

SOCIETEITSGEBOUW van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van neo-classicistisch pand met gaaf interieur en als typerend voorbeeld van een negentiende eeuwse herensociëteit.

Description
ASSEMBLY HALL BUILDING on a rectangular plan and consisting of main hall and ancillary building. The front structure with front facade on the Jansdam is entirely undercellared and has one very tall storey, followed by a mezzanine storey with applied fields between the square windows below a mansard roof with shallow pitch. The rear part has two storeys with along the Keistraat a mansard roof converted to the left in L-shape and further a flat roof. The entirely rendered facades on the Jansdam and Keistraat sides are respectively three and nine window bays wide on a natural stone plinth, where the middle window on the Jansdam, with an entrance supported by consoles replaced by a cornice with hood. The remaining windows of the front structure with frame and cornice. Broad cornice for closure with above still rendered tympanum with double window on Jansdam side. Rear structure with twice six window bays possesses on the ground floor left one entrance with classical frame with tympanum in the light projecting left section.
