Inleiding
Neo-Classicistisch midden-19de-eeuws gietijzeren HEK op bakstenen DAM. Het hek vormt de toegang tot de Hervormde Kerk (apart monumentnummer 13247) en de begraafplaats van Ouwsterhaule. Het lage hek op de gemetselde muurdam rechts van het hek is van recente datum en valt derhalve buiten de bescherming van rijkswege.
Omschrijving
Gietijzeren hek op bakstenen dam, bestaande uit twee midden- en twee zijvleugels tussen gecanneleerde pijlers op hardstenen basement; de spijlen zijn om en om afgezet met speerpunten, de pijlers met dubbele hellebaarden. De naald wordt bekroond door een kruisvorm, zijnde een combinatie van een speerpunt en een hellebaard. Aan de onder en bovenzijde diagonaal gekruiste vakken. Aan de bovenzijde, respectievelijk links en rechts, het opschrift 'ANNO' '1857'.

Het HEK op bakstenen DAM, behorende bij de Hervormde Kerk te Ouwsterhaule, is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch belang:

Neo-Classical mid-19th-century cast-iron GATE on a brick DAM. The gate forms the entrance to the Reformed Church (separate national monument number 13247) and the cemetery of Ouwsterhaule. The low gate on the mortared brick wall-dam to the right of the gate is of recent date and therefore falls outside the protection by the state.
Description
Cast-iron gate on brick dam, consisting of two middle and two side wings between fluted pillars on sandstone base; the spikes are alternately topped with spear points, the pillars with double halberds. The finial is crowned by a cross shape, being a combination of a spear point and a halberd. At the bottom and top diagonally crossed panels. At the top, on the left and right respectively, the inscription 'ANNO' '1857'.
