Omschrijving onderdeel 2: HISTORISCHE PARK EN TUINAANLEG - OVERTUIN
De OVERTUIN sluit ruimtelijk gezien aan op het voorterrein (oorspronkelijk naar ontwerp van L.P. Roodbaard uit omstreeks 1825; heringericht in 1978 in geometrische stijl door de Heidemij). Het ontwerp van de overtuin (L.P. Roodbaard; na 1832) voorzag in een transformatie van de oorspronkelijk formele achttiende-eeuwse aanleg tot landschappelijke tuin. Hoofdelement is de langgerekte slingerende vijver, die ongeveer halverwege een afsplitsing had aan de oostzijde. Oorspronkelijk lag er over deze zijarm een brug, maar deze is later vervangen door een dam. De vijver vindt een visuele beëindiging in de opgeworpen heuvel waarop zich het zomerhuis bevond. Rondom de vijver loopt een wandeling in de vorm van een slingerend pad. Aan weerszijden staan nog enkele oude linden die tot de formele aanleg behoren. De randen van de tuin worden afgesloten door bosschages. Hier en daar heeft Roodbaard aan de oostzijde vista's in deze begroeiing uitgespaard. Door de bouw van de particuliere woningen met tuinen aan deze zijde is het effect hiervan echter verloren gegaan. In het oorspronkelijke ontwerp was het begin van de overtuin ingedeeld in een aantal kleinere perken. Later is hier één gazon van gemaakt, waarin het Neptunusbeeld is geplaatst. Het hekwerk van de overtuin is een kopie naar het hekwerk voor Lyndenstein.

Description component 2: HISTORIC PARK AND GARDEN LAYOUT - BACK GARDEN
The BACK GARDEN spatially adjoins the front courtyard (originally designed by L.P. Roodbaard from around 1825; rearranged in 1978 in geometric style by the Heidemij). The design of the back garden (L.P. Roodbaard; after 1832) provided for a transformation of the originally formal eighteenth-century layout into a landscape garden. The main element is the long winding pond, which had a branch-off to the east roughly halfway along. Originally there was a bridge over this side arm, but it was later replaced by a dam. The pond finds visual termination in the raised mound on which the summer house stood. Around the pond runs a walk in the form of a winding path. On both sides stand some old lime trees that belong to the formal layout. The edges of the garden are enclosed by groves. Here and there Roodbaard left vistas in this planting on the east side. However, this effect has been lost through the construction of private houses with gardens on this side. In the original design the beginning of the back garden was divided into a number of smaller parterres. Later this was made into one lawn, in which the Neptune statue was placed. The fence of the back garden is a copy of the fence for Lyndenstein.
