Inleiding
HERENHUIS "Villa Louise" uit het eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw, in de "Old Colonial Style". Gebouwd voor de kaarsenfabrikant Koster, die aan de westkant van de Eindhovenseweg in de daar nog aanwezige fabriek kaarsen produceerde door architect L. Kooken.
Het huis ligt midden op het perceel. De voor- of zuidgevel ligt aan het driehoekige plein waar de Raadhuisstraat en Gestelseweg samenkomen.
Oostelijk van het perceel ligt de Eindhovenseweg.
Omschrijving
Het kubusvormige klassiek bakstenen huis met siermetselwerk en fries heeft een hoog met leien gedekt schilddak met uitstekende goten op voluutvormige gootklossen. Het dak is bekroond door pirons. Aan de voorkant voorzien van drie dakkapellen met zadeldakjes. De symetrische voorgevel bevat drie traveeen op de verdieping.
De monumentale ingangspartij heeft een rondbogig bovenlicht voorzien van stervormige roeden. Alle vensters hebben bovenlichten met kleine roedenverdeling en houten persiennes (jalouzien). Het onderste gedeelte van de persiennes op de begane grond is gedeeltelijk uitgevoerd als luik. De ingang wordt links geflankeerd door twee vensters en rechts door een vierzijdige erker. Hierboven op de verdieping gekoppelde vensters en boven de voordeur een enkel venster.
In de oostgevel een uitspringende zijvleugel met tympaan-bekroning waarin een rondvenster met stervormige glasroeden.
Aan de achterkant van het huis een in dezelfde stijl uitgevoerde aanbouw onder schilddaken uit het tweede kwart van de twintigste eeuw.
Een aanbouw onder tentdak uit ca. 1980 behoort niet tot het monument.
Waardering
Het herenhuis is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, met name de stichting van villa's in de dorpen nabij de uitvalswegen van de industriesteden. Het is van belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een technische en typologische ontwikkeling. MANSION "Villa Louise" from the first quarter of the twentieth century, in the "Old Colonial Style". Built for candle manufacturer Koster, who produced candles in the factory still present on the west side of the Eindhovenseweg, to a design by architect L. Kooken.

Description
The cubic classical brick house with ornamental masonry and frieze has a high slate-covered hipped roof with projecting gutters on volute-shaped gutter brackets. The roof is crowned by cresting. At the front furnished with three roof dormers with small gabled roofs. The symmetrical front façade contains three bays on the upper storey.
The monumental entrance arrangement has a rounded-arch fanlight provided with star-shaped glazing bars. All windows have fanlights with small glazing bars and wooden shutters (jalousies). The lower part of the shutters on the ground floor is partly executed as a shutter. The entrance is flanked on the left by two windows and on the right by a four-sided bay window. Above this on the upper storey paired windows and above the front door a single window.
In the east façade a projecting side wing with tympanum crown containing a round window with star-shaped glass glazing bars.
At the rear of the house an extension executed in the same style beneath hipped roofs from the second quarter of the twentieth century.
An extension beneath a tent roof from c. 1980 does not form part of the monument.
