Inleiding
ZAALKERK (evangelisatiegebouw) van de Nederlands Hervormde kerk van Tjuchem (behoort bij Siddeburen) gebouwd in 1928 in een regionale Amsterdamse School-stijl door architect E. Rozema uit Appingedam. Van 1982 tot 1987 werd het pand gerenoveerd. Aan de achterzijde werd een nieuw volume aangebouwd (consistorie en keuken) dat wegens te geringe ouderdom en te weinig architectonische waarde niet voor bescherming van rijkswege in aanmerking komt. Tevens werden twee nieuwe ramen in het dak aan west- en oostzijde geplaatst en werd in het interieur een portaal ingebouwd, werden de banken weggehaald en de muren afgetimmerd met schrootjes. Tegenwoordig vinden in dit gebouw weer kerkdiensten plaats.
Het evangelisatiegebouw is teruggerooid en ligt aan de hoofdweg in het centrum van Tjuchem.
Omschrijving
De verdiepingloze ZAALKERK (evangelisatiegebouw) op rechthoekige plattegrond is opgetrokken in een gesinterde baksteen met witgeschilderde vlakken en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak waarop rode Hollandse pannen; niet-originele goot op witgeschilderde bakstenen klossen; decoratieve houten windveren; muurankers.
De entree bevindt zich in de topgevel aan de voorzijde (noordgevel), bestaande uit een niet-originele halfronde deur met rondom rollaag; gemetselde stoep. Aan weerszijden een liggend vierruits venster waarin gestructureerd glas. Boven de entree een gevelsteen waarin staat geschreven `Hervormde evangelisatie 1928'. De topgevel wordt beëindigd door een vierkante beschoten dakruiter met ingesnoerde spits; luchtrooster; windwijzer in de vorm van een haan.
Aan de oostzijde zes steunberen waartussen staande tweeruits vensters onder rollaag.
Aan de topgevel aan de achterzijde (zuidgevel) de niet-beschermde aanbouw uit 1983 onder plat dak.
Aan de westzijde zes steunberen waartussen staande tweeruits vensters onder rollaag.
Een waardevol element in het INTERIEUR is de houten spantconstructie.

Hall church (evangelisation building) of the Dutch Reformed church of Tjuchem (belongs to Siddeburen) built in 1928 in a regional Amsterdam School style by architect E. Rozema from Appingedam. Description
The single-storey hall church (evangelisation building) on rectangular plan is constructed in sintered brick with whitewashed flat surfaces and is covered by a gabled roof with red Dutch tiles; non-original gutter on whitewashed brick blocks; decorative wooden wind braces; ornamental wall anchors.
The entrance is in the stepped gable at the front (north facade), consisting of a non-original semi-circular door with roll moulding all around; rendered stoep. On either side a horizontal four-pane window with structured glass. Above the entrance a façade stone inscribed 'Hervormde evangelisatie 1928'. The stepped gable is terminated by a square boarded bell turret with constricted spire; louvre; weather vane in the shape of a rooster.
On the east side six buttresses between which stand two-pane windows under roll moulding.
In the stepped gable on the rear side (south facade) the non-protected extension from 1983 under a flat roof.
On the west side six buttresses between which stand two-pane windows under roll moulding.
A valuable element in the INTERIOR is the wooden roof truss structure.
