Inleiding
Op hoek van Kenaupark en Kenaustraat gelegen VILLA in eclectische trant. De villa werd rond 1880 gebouwd ter plaatse van een enige jaren eerder gebouwde villa die spoedig weer verdween. Deze verdwenen villa maakte deel uit van een reeks van drie enkele en twee dubbele neo-classicistische villa's met mezzanino's aan de noordzijde van het Kenaupark, waarvan een deel gaaf bewaard is gebleven. De villa ontstond dus niet als oorspronkelijk onderdeel van het Kenaupark, maar maakt hiervan door architectuur en situering een beeldbepalend deel van uit. Het Kenaupark ontstond vanaf 1865 als Haarlems villapark naar stedebouwkundig ontwerp van J.D. Zocher jr. in Engelse landschapsstijl.
Omschrijving
Op L-vormig grondplan gebouwde villa ter hoogte van twee bouwlagen met mansardekap in Maasdekking. De L-vormige bouwmassa is met de binnenhoek gericht op het zuidwesten en met de beide lange buitenzijden op het noordoosten. Deze buitenzijden bevatten elk vier vensterassen. De binnenhoek heeft een gevelvlak ter breedte van twee vensterassen en een haaks hierop geplaatst gevelvlak ter breedte van één vensteras. De zuid- en de westgevel hebben elk twee vensterassen. De westgevel heeft ter hoogte van de parterre een erker over de gehele gevelbreedte. Op deze erker bevindt zich een plat met balustrade.
De villa is opgetrokken in rode baksteen, die op een aantal punten door geabstraheerde pilasters wordt geleed. Deze pilasters zijn net als de decoratie in de lateien en ontlastingsbogen in een gladde cementpleister uitgevoerd. Het muurwerk wordt aan de bovenzijde door een rondomgaand hoofdgestel afgesloten.
De houten vensters, die op de parterre zijn getoogd, zijn voorzien van T-vormige schuiframen en dubbele scharnierende terrasdeuren. De hoofdingang bevindt zich aan de westzijde en is voorzien van de oorspronkelijke paneeldeur. In het westelijk dakvlak bevindt zich een dakkapel onder klein fronton en voorzien van een klein rond venster.
De erfafscheiding bestaat aan de straatzijden uit een rijk gedecoreerd ijzeren tuinhek.

VILLA in eclectic style situated at the corner of Kenaupark and Kenaustraat. The villa was built around 1880 on the site of a villa built several years earlier which soon disappeared. This vanished villa formed part of a series of three single and two double neo-classical villas with mezzanines on the north side of Kenaupark, of which part has been preserved intact. The villa thus did not originate as an original component of Kenaupark, but through its architecture and location forms a defining part of it. Kenaupark came into being from 1865 as Haarlem's villa park according to the urban design of J.D. Zocher jr. in English landscape style.
Description
Villa built on an L-shaped ground plan at a height of two storeys with mansard roof in Dutch tile. The L-shaped building mass has its inner corner oriented towards the southwest and its two long outer sides towards the northeast. These outer sides each contain four window bays. The inner corner has a facade plane the width of two window bays and a perpendicular facade plane the width of one window bay. The south and west facades each have two window bays. The west facade has a full-width bay window at ground-floor level. Above this bay window is a flat area with balustrade.
The villa is constructed in red brick, which at a number of points is articulated by abstracted pilasters. These pilasters, like the decoration in the lintels and relieving arches, are executed in smooth cement plaster. The masonry is terminated at the top by a continuous main cornice.
The wooden windows, which are arched at ground-floor level, are provided with T-shaped sash windows and double hinged terrace doors. The main entrance is situated on the west side and is provided with the original panelled door. In the western roof plane there is a roof dormer under a small pediment and provided with a small round window.
The boundary fencing consists on the street sides of a richly decorated iron garden fence.

The villa, which has been preserved intact in its main form and detailing, is of general significance from a cultural-historical and architectural-historical perspective; furthermore, the villa is of general significance because of its ensemble value as a later added component of the villa development that came into being in relation to the landscape arrangement of Kenaupark.
