Inleiding
In 1882 in Eclectische stijl gebouwde STALHOUDERIJ met twee bovenwoningen. De stalhouderij, die nu in gebruik is als garagebedrijf, bevindt zich in de noordoosthoek van het Floraplein. Het pand is enigszins naar achteren gelegen en grenst met zijn zuidgevel aan Floraplein 26.
De bebouwing langs het Floraplein maakt deel uit van een in 1873 door L.P. Zocher ontworpen plan voor de aanleg en bebouwing van het Hazepatersveld. Het Hazepatersveld was een weiland, gelegen tussen de Dreef, Hazepaterslaan en Wagenweg, dat kort vóór 1873 door de gemeente Haarlem was aangekocht van de Doopsgezinde gemeente. De gemeente Haarlem stond voor ogen het weiland te transformeren tot een villapark en zij gaf hiertoe het bedrijf van L.P. Zocher's vader, J.D. Zocher & Co., de opdracht om een plan voor aanleg en bebouwing van het Hazepatersveld te ontwerpen.
In dit plan van aanleg, dat in 1873 gereed kwam, is een contrast zichtbaar tussen enerzijds de formele, stedelijke aanleg zoals die aan het Floraplein en de Dreef gedacht was en anderzijds de landschappelijke aanleg van het Florapark en een deel van de Hazepaterslaan. Omschrijving
Voormalige stalhouderij bestaande uit twee aan elkaar gekoppelde bouwvolumes op rechthoekig grondplan. Het halfvrijstaand gelegen linker bouwvolume bestaat uit een begane grond met daarboven een kapverdieping onder afgeknot zadeldak bekleed met zwarte Hollandse pannen. Het rechter bouwvolume bestaat uit twee bouwlagen onder een schilddak met zwarte Hollandse pan.
Het geheel is opgetrokken in rode baksteen. De pui van de voorgevel (west) is wit gesausd met een donkergrijs geverfde plint. De staldeuren in de voorgevel zijn enigszins gewijzigd ten behoeve van de huidige functie van het pand. Over de gehele voorgevel loopt tussen de begane grond en de verdieping een brede gepleisterde cordonlijst. Ook zijn er enkele horizontale pleisterbanden over de voorgevel aangebracht. Het linker pand bezit links in de voorgevel een houten voordeur die naar de bovenwoning leidt. De voorgevel wordt afgesloten door een door bepleisterde Dorische pilasters ondersteund houten hoofdgestel. Deze geveltop, die een vierruits houten venster onder rondboogvormig spaarveld met gepleisterde sluitsteen bevat, wordt aan weerszijden gemarkeerd door bepleisterde vleugelstukken. Het linker pand wordt ter hoogte van de verdieping, door middel van een wit gesausde bakstenen uitbouw onder plat dak, verbonden met het rechter pand. Deze uitbouw bevat een vierruits houten venster. De linker zijgevel van het linker pand is geheel blind en wordt afgesloten door een geprofileerde houten gootlijst.
De voorgevel van het rechter pand is vier vensterassen breed en heeft in de, enigszins risalerende, linker en rechter vensteras een houten voordeur op de begane grond. Deze deuren worden omlijst door, in hout opgetrokken, Dorische pilasters en een hoofdgestel. Boven dit hoofdgestel bevindt zich een in stuc- en pleisterwerk uitgevoerd paneel met daarin een paardenhoofd. De twee risalerende hoekvensterassen bevatten op de verdieping dubbele houten, halfrond beëindigde koofluiken en worden net onder de kroonlijst afgesloten door een pleisterwerk fries met triglyfen. De twee middelste vensterassen van deze voorgevel bevatten op de verdieping twee vernieuwde vensters onder segmentbogen met gepleisterde sluitsteen.
Waardering
Voormalige stalhouderij uit 1882 in Eclectische trant van algemeen belang wegens cultuurhistorische en typologische waarde als zijnde een zeldzaam bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van een stalgebouw dat is gebouwd temidden van een stedelijke uitbreiding. The half-detached left building volume consists of a ground floor with above it a roof space storey under a truncated gabled roof covered with black Dutch tiles. The right building volume consists of two storeys under a hipped roof with black Dutch tiles.
The whole is constructed in red brick. The facade of the front elevation (west) is lime-washed white with a dark grey-painted plinth. The stable doors in the front elevation are somewhat modified for the current function of the building. Across the entire front elevation runs between the ground floor and the upper storey a wide plastered cordon moulding. Also, several horizontal plaster bands have been applied across the front elevation. The left building has on the left of the front elevation a wooden entrance door leading to the residential unit above. The front elevation is terminated by a wooden entablature supported by plastered Doric pilasters. This gable end, which contains a four-pane wooden window under a rounded arch-shaped spandrel with plastered keystone, is marked on either side by plastered wing pieces. The left building is at the level of the upper storey connected by means of a lime-washed brick extension under a flat roof to the right building. This extension contains a four-pane wooden window. The left side elevation of the left building is completely blank and is terminated by a moulded wooden drip moulding.
The front elevation of the right building is four window bays wide and has, in the somewhat projecting left and right window bays, a wooden entrance door on the ground floor. These doors are framed by Doric pilasters constructed in wood and an entablature. Above this entablature is a panel executed in stuccowork and plasterwork with a horse's head within it. The two projecting corner window bays contain on the upper storey double wooden shutters with semi-circular endings and are terminated just below the cornice with a plasterwork frieze with triglyphs. The two central window bays of this front elevation contain on the upper storey two renewed windows under segmental arches with plastered keystones.
Valuation
