Inleiding
Het WijnbergsHOFJE is in de zeventiende eeuw gesticht maar dateert in zijn huidige vorm grotendeels uit 1872. Het achterhuis met de voormalige regentenkamer en een lijstgevel in regencestijl vormt het restant van een oudere bouwfase. Het kleinschalige hofje ligt achter het hoofdgebouw in Eclectische trant aan de straatzijde en heeft een rechthoekige hoofdvorm rond een eenvoudige binnentuin met centraal rechthoekig beplantingsvak.
Omschrijving
Het symmetrisch opgezette hoofdgebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt twee bouwlagen onder een met rode Hollandse pannen gedekt schilddak waarvan de noklijn evenwijdig aan de straat ligt. De voorgevel (NO) is boven een natuurstenen plint opgetrokken in bruine baksteen en telt vijf vensterassen met een gepleisterde middenpartij en hoekpilasters. De middentravee met entree wordt geflankeerd door dubbele pilasters waarvan de binnenste ten opzichte van de buitenste iets risaleert. De sokkels van de pilasters zijn uitgevoerd in natuursteen. De entree bestaat uit een getoogd portiek met dubbele paneeldeur onder getoogd bovenlicht. Boven het portiek het opschrift "T Wijnbergshofje 1662 1872" onder een afsluitende uitkragende profiellijst. Op de verdieping een vierruits venster met tweeruits bovenlicht in een gepleisterde lijst met segmentboog. De middenpartij eindigt in een puntgevel met klein roosvenster onder ver overstekend zadeldak. Aan weerszijden daarvan wordt de gevel afgesloten door een brede lijst met uitkragende geprofileerde kroonlijst op decoratief gesneden consoles. Voor het overige in de voorgevel zesruits schuifvensters. In de middenas van de achtergevel (ZW) een dubbele glasdeur onder bovenlicht die opent op het binnenterrein van de hof en daarboven een zesruitsschuifvenster. Rechts van de entree een identiek venster en voor het overige blindvensters om de symmetrie te bewaren.
De hofjeswoningen liggen in de bouwvolumes aan weerszijden (O en W) van de binnenhof en zijn opgebouwd uit één bouwlaag en een halve verdieping. De gevels zijn voorzien van een geprofileerde gootlijst. Aan elke gevel bevinden zich twee lichte risalieten waarin twee paneeldeuren onder bovenlichten en twee kleine vierkante vensters. In de geveldelen daartussen telkens twee zesruits schuifvensters. Aan weerszijden van het achterhuis twee schuin geplaatste entreepartijen met paneeldeuren. Op de verdieping tweeruits uitzetvensters.
De voorgevel (NW) van het achterhuis onder met pannen gedekt schilddak telt twee vensterassen met beganegronds zesruits schuifvensters en op de verdieping vierruiters. De decoratieve daklijst bevat in het midden een vierruits venster onder rondboogvormig fronton. Onder het venster een decoratieve rand met festoenen en rondom het venster reliëfornamenten. Aan de uiteinden rust de kroonlijst op zware decoratieve consoles.
Waardering
Het Wijnbergshofje is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als representatief en grotendeels gaaf voorbeeld van een kleinschalig hofje uit het laatste kwart van de 19de eeuw met een oudere kern waarin de regentenkamer bewaard is gebleven. The symmetrically arranged main building has a rectangular ground plan and comprises two storeys under a hipped roof covered with red Dutch tiles, whose ridge line is parallel to the street. The front facade (NE) is built above a natural stone plinth in brown brick and comprises five window axes with a plastered central section and corner pilasters. The central bay with entrance is flanked by double pilasters of which the inner one projects slightly in relation to the outer one. The bases of the pilasters are executed in natural stone. The entrance consists of a vaulted portico with double panel door under a vaulted fanlight. Above the portico the inscription "T Wijnbergshofje 1662 1872" below a closing projecting moulding. On the storey above a four-pane window with two-pane fanlight in a plastered surround with segmental arch. The central section ends in a pointed gable with small rose window below a far-projecting gabled roof. On either side of this the facade is closed by a broad moulding with projecting moulded cornice on decoratively cut consoles. Otherwise in the front facade six-pane sash windows. In the central axis of the rear facade (SW) a double glass door below fanlight opening onto the inner court of the hofje and above it a six-pane sash window.
