Inleiding WOONHUIS, behorende tot het complex Hof van Eeden, in 1899 gebouwd voor Truida Everts in een op de streekeigen, landelijke bouwkunst teruggaande architectuur. Het leek in oorsprong wat vorm en grootte betreft op een Goois daglonershuisje. De Engelse invloed was terug te vinden in de brede, als zelfstandig onderdeel behandelde, ver uitgemetselde schoorsteen, die hoog naast het dak stond (verwijderd in 1958). In 1958 werd het kleine huis uitgebreid met een haaks op de achtergevel staande vleugel (één bouwlaag met zadeldak) ontworpen door architect De Kam. NB De uitbreiding uit 1958 valt buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving
Sober - in materiaal, vorm, grootte en detaillering - uitgevoerd woonhuis op samengesteld grondplan en bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder samengesteld zadeldak. Het woonhuis bevat een rechthoekig hoofdvolume met aan de westzijde een lagere en ten opzichte van de voorgevel terugspringende aanbouw. Het zadeldak heeft een houten bakgoot, gladde windveren en een dekking met rode Hollandse pannen. Het muurwerk is gepleisterd.
De voorgevel, een langsgevel op het zuiden, heeft iets rechts uit het midden de voormalige voordeur (nu de deur naar de keuken), bestaande uit een gesloten paneel beneden en boven een getoogd 4-ruits raam en heeft aan de rechter kant een 4-ruits zijlicht. Links van de deur was vroeger de eerder genoemde schoorsteen die in 1958 plaats maakte voor de huidige deur met glaspaneel. Aan weerszijden van deze deur is een 6-ruits raam. Rechts van de voormalige voordeur is een twaalfruits stolpraam. De beide kopgevels (W,O) hebben elk een hoog venster bestaande uit een twaalfruits stolpraam onder een achtruits bovenlicht. De aanbouw heeft aan voor- en rechterzijde (Z,W) een twaalfruits stolpraam. De indeling van de achtergevel is sinds 1958 niet meer oorspronkelijk.
Waardering Het uit 1899 daterende sobere, in cottagestijl naar ontwerp van W.C. Bauer gebouwde kleine woonhuis is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch waarde als historisch-functioneel hoofdonderdeel van het complex Hof van Eeden.

Description
Sober - in materials, form, size and detailing - executed dwelling house on a composite ground plan and consisting of one storey beneath a composite gabled roof. The dwelling house contains a rectangular main volume with a lower annexe on the west side set back from the front facade. The gabled roof has wooden box guttering, smooth bargeboards and a covering of red Dutch tiles. The masonry is plastered.
The front facade, a long side facing south, has slightly to the right of centre the former front door (now the kitchen door), consisting of a closed panel below and above a moulded 4-pane window and has on the right side a 4-pane side light. To the left of the door was formerly the aforementioned chimney which in 1958 made way for the current door with glass panel. On either side of this door is a 6-pane window. To the right of the former front door is a twelve-pane sash window. Both gable ends (W,E) each have a tall window consisting of a twelve-pane sash window beneath an eight-pane fanlight. The annexe has on the front and right sides (S,W) a twelve-pane sash window. The arrangement of the rear facade has not been original since 1958.
Valuation The small dwelling house dating from 1899, soberly built in cottage style to a design by W.C. Bauer, is of general importance due to its cultural and architectural historical value as a historically-functional principal component of the Hof van Eeden complex.
