Inleiding
L-vormig éénlaags WOONHUIS met INRIJPOORT voor de achtergelegen bedrijfsfunctie, in zijn huidige verschijningsvorm uit ca 1887 stammend. Het woonhuis is via de poort gekoppeld aan het erachter gelegen aannemersbedrijf. De bedrijfsgebouwen vallen niet onder de bescherming.
Hoewel het pand op het eerste gezicht een dwarshuis lijkt, waarvan het rechter deel als poortweg fungeert, is het van oorsprong een diep koetshuis, uitgebreid met een aangekapt bouwdeel, waarin de genoemde poort. Het pand ligt in de middeleeuwse stad, in de rooilijn. Links sluit een fors woonhuis aan, rechts een lage garage. Het pand is markant gelegen aan een ruim, driehoekig plein.
Omschrijving
Het BEDRIJFSCOMPLEX MET WONING bestaat uit niet beschermde bedrijfsgebouwen achter een woning met poort in de rooilijn. Onder het voorste deel van het linker deel van het pand ligt een kelder met troggewelf loodrecht op de voorgevel. De toegang bevindt zich rechts achter de kelderruimte. Noch de kelder, noch de zolder geven voldoende zekerheid om tot een oudere oorsprong dan de 19de eeuw te kunnen concluderen. In die tijd had het pand de functie van koetshuis of schuur. Nadien werd het diepe pand naar rechts uitgebreid; later werd aan de achterzijde het diepe deel verlengd met een forse werkplaats, waarop een rechts ervan gelegen andere werkplaats, uitziende op de poortweg, aansluit. Inwendig is de bedrijfruimte doorgebroken.
Het L-vormige dak draagt machinale, gesmoorde oud-Hollandse pannen. Op het voorschild staan drie dakkapellen, deze zijn nieuw gemaakt naar het voorbeeld van de oorspronkelijke, die op de plaats van de middelste stond.
De witte eclecticistische VOORGEVEL heeft rijke stucwerkversieringen. De plint is grijs geschilderd. Links bevinden zich twee T-vensters, gevolgd door de ingang en nog een T-venster. De gevelopeningen zijn getoogd uitgevoerd. Rechts is de poortdoorgang, een rondboog op gladde pilasters, omlijst met een neo-renaissance portaal. De geblokte pilasters hiervan hebben, in stucwerk, alternerend een diamantkop en een rustica-blok. Op de pilasters staat een relatief laag hoofdgestel met het opschrift "AANNEMERSBEDRIJF". De boogzwikken zijn voorzien van velden die ook als rustica uitgevoerd zijn.
De detaillering van de gevel is gaaf bewaard gebleven. De ingang heeft een door de bewoner naar foto's van de oorspronkelijke gemaakte voordeur met twee staande panelen en boven en onder een liggend paneel. De T-ramen hebben sierlijk glas-in-lood in hun bovenlichten. De vensters bezitten nog hun persiennes met opklapbare luikjes onderaan, inclusief de uitzetijzers. De betegeling van de particuliere stoep, van rond 1920, sluit aan bij het historische beeld. Het gaat om gele vloertegels, die steeds vier kleinere suggereren, verlevendigd met enkele malen een ruitmotief in soortgelijke grijze tegels. Mogelijk horen deze bij een renovatie waarbij ook de bovenlichten van het glas-in-lood voorzien werden.

De grote kamer links heeft tegen de linker zijmuur een schouw, waarvan de boezem in dezelfde vormentaal van stucwerk is voorzien. De kleurstelling op het rechter plafond is door de huidige bewoners aangebracht. De gang heeft een 'lambrisering' van okerkleurige tegels met een blauwige bovenrand.
Waardering
Van het BEDRIJFSCOMPLEX MET WONING is van belang de woning met naastgelegen poort, in eclectische vormgeving. De bescherming beperkt zich tot het L-vormige woonhuis met de poortweg; de bedrijfsbebouwing valt hier dus buiten.

Description
The BUSINESS COMPLEX WITH DWELLING consists of unprotected business buildings behind a dwelling with gateway on the building line. Beneath the front part of the left section of the building lies a cellar with a barrel vault perpendicular to the front facade. Access is located to the right behind the cellar space. Neither the cellar nor the attic provide sufficient certainty to conclude an origin older than the 19th century. At that time the building served as a carriage house or barn. Subsequently the deep building was extended to the right; later the deep section was extended at the rear with a substantial workshop, to which another workshop situated to the right of it, overlooking the gateway passage, adjoins. Internally the business space is opened through.
The L-shaped roof carries machine-made, laid old Dutch tiles. On the front roof section stand three roof dormers, these are newly made following the example of the original, which stood in the place of the middle one.
The white eclectic FRONT FACADE has rich stucco decorations. The plinth is painted grey. On the left are two T-windows, followed by the entrance and another T-window. Of the INTERIOR, in the large room on the left and the small room on the right of the hallway a stucco ceiling matching the front facade finish has been preserved intact. The large room on the left has a fireplace against the left side wall, the mantel of which is furnished in the same stuccowork vocabulary. The colouring on the right ceiling has been applied by the current occupants. The hallway has a wainscoting of ochre-coloured tiles with a bluish upper edge.
Valuation
Of importance in the BUSINESS COMPLEX WITH DWELLING is the dwelling with adjacent gateway, in eclectic design. Protection is limited to the L-shaped residential house with the gateway passage; the business building is thus excluded from this.
