Inleiding
DUBBEL WOONHUIS MET GARAGES, gebouwd in 1921 in opdracht van J.A. Carp voor zijn chauffeur en bedienden. De architect H.
Teeuwisse realiseerde het gebouw in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School, naar plannen van J. Crouwel. In vorm en stijl verwijst het naar de villa op nummer 63. Het woonhuis nummer 65 is gelegen aan de Aarle Rixtelseweg, in het buitengebied van Helmond.
Omschrijving
De dubbele woning heeft een vlinderplattegrond en tussen de woningen drie garages. Er is één bouwlaag onder, één in de kap en daar boven een zolderetage. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen. Het hoge mansardedak is voorzien van leien in maasdekking. De topgevel van nummer 65 is gesitueerd aan de weg, is voorzien van een paneeldeur en twee smalle drielichts zolderraampjes. In de topgevel is siermetselwerk. In de zijden zijn eveneens paneeldeuren aangebracht. Op de begane grond bevinden zich openslaande ramen met bovenlicht en houten kozijnen. In de kap zijn openslaande vensters aangebracht als reeksen met loden sieromlijsting. De huizen nummer 65 en 67 zijn identiek uitgevoerd. Tussen de huizen staan de garages, die de huizen met een knik met elkaar verbinden. De garages hebben een zadeldak en zijn voorzien van openslaande deuren voorzien van geometrische sierpatronen.
Waardering
Het ensemble van villa met dienstwoningen en garages is van algemeen belang. Description
The double dwelling has a butterfly-shaped floor plan and between the dwellings three garages. There is one storey below, one in the roof and above that an attic storey. The facades are constructed of machine-made brick. The high mansard roof is provided with slate in Maas bond. The gable of number 65 is situated facing the road, is provided with a panelled door and two narrow three-light attic windows. Ornamental brickwork is present in the gable.
