Omschrijving
GRAFKELDER, gelegen aan de rand van het dorp. Opdrachtgever was Adrianus Eldering Ferf, van 1838 tot 1876 griffier bij het kantongerecht van Burgum. Na onenigheid met een van de kerkvoogden van de Nederlands Hervormde kerk over de aankoop van graven, liet Ferf in ongeveer 1860 op eigen grond een grafkelder voor zijn familie bouwen. Het stuk grond is gelegen schuin tegenover de kerk, op de hoek van de Molenweg en de Schoolstraat; de grafkelder ligt onopvallend aan de rand van het dorp, verscholen in het groen.
In de ruimte bevinden zich de stoffelijke overschotten van de volgende personen: Anna Cornelia Eldering Ferf (+ 1859), Horatius Nieubuur Ferf (+ 1859), Sjoukje Ferf (+ 1860), Anna Eldering (+ 1862), naamloos, Abraham Ferf (+ 1865), Hector Jacob Ferf (+ 1869), Sybrand Abo Jan baron van Heeckeren (+ 1879) en Jillardina Emila Kok (+ 1880).
Omschrijving
De omstreeks 1860 onder een ronde heuvel aangelegde grafkelder is begroeid met struiken en wordt begrensd door een lage, gele bakstenen muur. De ingang van de kelder aan de noordwestzijde is afgedekt met een gladde natuurstenen dekplaat. Een trap leidt naar een tongewelf van 4.50 meter lang, 2.75 breed en 2.00 meter hoog.
Waardering
De grafkelder uit ongeveer 1860 te Burgum is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:

Description
BURIAL VAULT, located at the edge of the village. The patron was Adrianus Eldering Ferf, who from 1838 to 1876 was clerk of the cantonal court of Burgum. After a disagreement with one of the church wardens of the Dutch Reformed Church over the purchase of graves, Ferf had a burial vault built for his family on his own land around 1860. The plot of land is located diagonally opposite the church, at the corner of the Molenweg and the Schoolstraat; the burial vault lies inconspicuously at the edge of the village, hidden in the greenery.

Description
The burial vault, laid out around 1860 beneath a round mound, is overgrown with shrubs and is bounded by a low yellow brick wall. The entrance to the vault on the north-west side is covered with a smooth natural stone slab. A staircase leads to a barrel vault 4.50 metres long, 2.75 wide and 2.00 metres high.
