Inleiding
In opdracht van de vrijmetselaarsloge van Kampen werd "Le profond Silence" in 1882 naar ontwerpen van stadsarchitect F.C. Koch als LOGE in een gematigde Eclectische stijl gebouwd.
Het pand is onderdeel van een gesloten gevelwand en ligt in het centrum van Kampen.
Omschrijving
Herenhuis, vanaf een hardstenen plint over twee bouwlagen opgetrokken in rode machinale baksteen onder een schilddak met rode Hollandse pannen. De voorgevel heeft twee vensters en een deur met bovenlicht onder een segmentboog met aanzet- en sluitstenen. Ter hoogte van onder-, wissel- en bovendorpel een doorlopende gepleisterde sierlijst. Tussen de verdiepingen een gepleisterd kader met de naam van de loge.
De verdieping is voorzien van drie vensters met bovenlicht onder segmentbogen gedecoreerd met aanzet- en sluitstenen. Tussen wissel- en bovendorpel een gepleisterde sierlijst.
De gevel wordt beëindigd door een kroonlijst. Het interieur heeft de originele indeling en de oorspronkelijke tempel. Deze ruimte heeft wanden die versierd zijn met gestucte, gecanneleerde pilasters met fantasiekapitelen en een tongewelf.
