Inleiding
PASTORIE, gebouwd in 1870 in eclectische bouwtrant. De pastorie is gelegen aan de westzijde van en verbonden met de reeds beschermde rooms-katholieke H. Nicolaaskerk te Muiden (adres: Herengracht 83; monumentnr. 30120).
De pastorie is (samen met de kerk) karakteristiek gelegen in het beschermd stadsgezicht Muiden, aan de oostzijde van de Herengracht, c.q. de rivier de Vecht. De pastorie heeft langs de voorgevel een hardstenen stoep met gietijzeren hekwerk als erfscheiding.
NB: De zuidgevel bevat op de begane grond een niet beschermde aanbouw die de pastorie met de kerk bevindt. De noordgevel heeft een niet beschermde aangebouwde garage.
Omschrijving
Vrijstaand pand, gebouwd op rechthoekige plattegrond naar ontwerp uit 1870, bestaande uit twee bouwlagen onder een afgeplat schilddak met vernieuwde Hollandse pannen. Het pand is opgetrokken in rode handvormsteen, gemetseld in kruisverband. De licht getoogde strekken zijn uitgevoerd in rode en gele baksteen. De voorgevel is voorzien van pilasters. De zijgevels, achtergevel, lisenen en het fries zijn gepleisterd en voorzien van snijvoegen ter imitatie van natuursteenblokken. Zijgevels en achtergevel zijn opgetrokken boven een licht risalerende grijsgesauste plint. De gevel wordt rondom afgesloten door een geprofileerde houten gootlijst die ter plaatse van de lisenen is voorzien van voluutachtige consoles.
De symmetrisch opgezette voorgevel (W) is opgetrokken boven een hardstenen plint en heeft een breedte van vijf vensterassen. De middenas is uitgevoerd als een risaliet. Middenrisaliet en gevelhoeken zijn voorzien van gepleisterde pilasters, die op de begane grond geblokt zijn en op de eerste verdieping een paneel en voluut bevatten. In de middenas bevindt zich op de begane grond de in een portiek geplaatste voordeur en op de eerste verdieping een rechthoekig houten zesruits-schuifvenster. Boven de gootlijst is op de middenas een houten dakkapel met klauwstukken aangebracht. De dakkapel bevat een getoogd houten venster met twee draairamen. Aan weerszijden van het middenrisaliet bevindt zich een geveldeel ter breedte van twee vensterassen, die zowel op de begane grond als op de eerste verdieping een rechthoekig houten zesruits-schuifvenster bevatten. De voorgevel wordt horizontaal geleed door een gestucte waterlijst tussen de begane grond en eerste verdieping en een gestuct fries met panelen onder de gootlijst.
De linkerzijgevel (N) is blind op de begane grond. Op de eerste verdieping bevinden zich twee rechthoekige houten zesruits-schuifvensters met houten lekdorpel. De zuidgevel heeft op de eerste verdieping een zesruits-schuifvenster. De achtergevel (O) heeft een breedte van vijf vensterassen. De nadruk ligt op de middenas, die op de begane grond de achteringang bevat bestaande uit een smalle dubbele deur met glas-in-lood panelen en glas-in-lood-bovenlicht en op de eerste verdieping een dubbele paneeldeur met glaspanelen en glas-in-lood-bovenlicht die toegang geeft tot een klein rechthoekig balkon. Op de begane grond bevinden zich links van de achteringang twee rechthoekige houten T-vensters en rechts een venster, type 'melkmeid', met twee openslaande tuindeuren met glas-in-loodpanelen en voorzien van zij- en bovenlichten met glas-in-lood. Op de eerste verdieping bevindt zich aan weerszijden van het balkon een geveldeel ter breedte van twee vensterassen, die elk een rechthoekig houten T-venster met glas-in-lood-bovenlichten bevatten.
Het interieur is nog gedeeltelijk intact en bevat onder andere op de begane grond nog de originele paneeldeuren, de houten harmonicaluiken voor de vensters, een roodmarmeren schouw in de spreekkamer en een stucplafond in de voormalige huiskamer van de pastoor.

- de pastorie is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als merendeels gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een religieuze dienstwoning uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw, opgetrokken in eclectische bouwtrant. Description
Detached building, constructed on a rectangular ground plan from a design of 1870, consisting of two storeys beneath a hipped roof with renewed Dutch tiles. The building is constructed of red hand-moulded brick, laid in bond. The slightly arched stretches are executed in red and yellow brick. The front facade is provided with pilasters. The side facades, rear facade, lesenes and the frieze are plastered and provided with scored joints to imitate natural stone blocks. The side facades and rear facade are constructed above a slightly projecting grey-plastered plinth. The facade is closed all around by a profiled wooden cornice which is provided at the locations of the lesenes with volute-like consoles.
The symmetrically arranged front facade (W) is constructed above a hard stone plinth and has a width of five window bays. The central bay is executed as a risalit. The central risalit and gable corners are provided with plastered pilasters, which on the ground floor are rusticated and on the first storey contain a panel and volute. On the ground floor are located to the left of the back entrance two rectangular wooden T-windows and to the right a window, type 'milkmaid', with two opening garden doors with leaded glass panels and provided with side and top lights with leaded glass. On the first storey there is on either side of the balcony a gable section with a width of two window bays, which each contain a rectangular wooden T-window with leaded glass top lights.
The interior is still partially intact and contains among other things on the ground floor still the original panelled doors, the wooden concertina shutters for the windows, a red marble fireplace in the reception room and a stuccoed ceiling in the former sitting room of the priest.
Valuation
- the parochial house is of general importance on grounds of cultural and architectural historical value as a largely well-preserved example of a religious service dwelling from the second half of the 19th century, constructed in eclectic architectural style.
